How screwed would you be if he decided to be a free agent. I guess he really likes the organization, but I doubt you guys are getting anywhere far. Maybe in the 3-4 years you might lead the east.

Good news. I'm so glad that we have Dwight here in Orlando. <div class="quote_poster">Mercury Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I guess he really likes the organization, but I doubt you guys are getting anywhere far.</div> Well I think it's safe to say... Magic's future > Net's future
Well , you aren't going to the top team in the Eastern Conference until your young guys mature more. They still have areas that can be improved. So you consider Redick scary now? I always see that some of you are complaining about how he was a waste of a pick. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Dwight, Darko, Trevor, Jameer, and Redick isn't scary at all</div> Other than Dwight I don't feel so threatened by your core.....for now. Meaning that, in the future you will be dangerous, but just not now. I had to make it fast, because I'm about to sleep.
You said you doubt we are getting anywhere far and that we just MIGHT lead the East in 3-4 years. It sounded like you were questioning the future of this team and I think everyone can agree that when all of these guys are in their primes, they are going to be a scary team.

I can't say your team will lead, because another team might emerge with a better core. Scary team? Yes, but not a definite leader of the conference.

Magic don't have that spot locked up, even with the young core they currently have. Are you and I talking about the same thing? I kind of have the feeling, that you are misinterpreting my statement a bit. I really don't know, because I might be the slow one here. Late nights get to me.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">You said you doubt we are getting anywhere far and that we just MIGHT lead the East</div> From what I understood, Swish seemed certain that Orlando would lead the east, and he disagreed when I said they only might.

The best part about him is he loves Orlando, he loves his teammates, he truly loves the game and doesn't consider it work, he's never been hurt in his 3 years(knock on wood) and he doesn't take anything for granted and works extremely hard every off season to improve his game. What more can you possibly want out of a guy? Then you consider that we have lost Tmac and Shaq already in our franchises young career, do you blame us in locking him up long term with a 87.5 million dollar deal?

<div class="quote_poster">Swish Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah because a core of Dwight, Darko, Trevor, Jameer, and Redick isn't scary at all... </div> It's really not, outside of Dwight. Isn't there a good chance that Darko walks this offseason? I was reading an article, I believe it was on Realgm, that the Magic are afraid he's going to want more than what he's worth. Redick? Has he improved his play yet? Has he gotten minutes? I don't think he's anything to be scared of, all he's got is a shot, but he's only shooting 40% this year. Trevor's a good role player. Jameer? I thought you were complaining about him the other week, no? He's nice, but is he your PG of the future? He's only getting 4 APG. This is a great deal for the Magic though, if they can lock it up that'd be fantastic. Dwight is going to be one of the best centers to play the game, if he can stay healthy. If they can put the right pieces around him, then the Magic will be a force. How much more can his game expand? In his prime, I can see him getting 23/15. He's a monster. I don't see him play that much, how are his post moves? From what I can remember, his offense is pretty limited to putbacks and dunks? Am I way off here?

Orlando cannot afford to lose Dwight Howard, but seriously. I'd agree that he has the potential to take away Shaquille Oneal's title as most dominating player. Tmac was only a name to Orlando, more like a "wow, we have Tracy McGrady playing for our team" type of thing, he had a big name, but his play while in Orlando was very sub par. "do you blame us in locking him up long term with a 87.5 million dollar deal?" I don't blame you for trying to clench his interest with lots of money, but if he really loves Orlando and the team, money won't be the only thing on his mind.
It's his first big contract he's gotten since entering the league so of course he's gonna cash in since his rookie deal was small. LeBron, Wade, Bosh, and Melo did the same thing last offseason.
