Update: Kobe Suspended Tonight http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2790534 They are looking into whether he should be suspended again for his hit last night on Marko Jaric, haven't seen the video yet cause im at school but I will have to check it out when I get home
You don't need to check out the video, it was IDENTICAL to what happened to Ginobli, I mean identical. Jaric was even bleeding after the hit too. I hope they don't suspend Kobe just to be "consistent" since they did it the first time. It was an accident, and the last thing we need is Kobe being suspended 1 more game at this point in time.
With the current string of bad luck the team is facing, I wouldn't be surprised to see Kobe fouled. Also the fact Jaric was bleeding after the play likley results in a 1 game suspension, possibly 2 since this is the second time Kobe's caught someone with his follow through.
<div class="quote_poster">44Thrilla Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Why is Kobe the only player that seems to 'accidentally' do this?</div> Same reason Kobe's the only one to score 81 points in a game. He's a special breed, one of a kind... Nah, just playing, I don't know why he's the only one that does that. I know when I accidentally hit someone, I know if I hurt them or not, so I don't understand why Kobe didn't walk over the Jaric and check to see if he was ok, instead of rolling his eyes and walking to the other side of the court. I'm sure it would have helped his case tremendously if he just acted like he gave a crap.
I didn't see the exact play, but I read that Jaric undercut him, is that true? If he does get suspended, it won't be for one game. It'll be in the 2-5 game range because it's a repeat offense. I still think it's BS if they suspend him. LeBron wasn't suspended for the hit he put on Wade.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The NBA is suspending Lakers guard Kobe Bryant for Wednesday night's game at Milwaukee for catching Minnesota Timberwolves guard Marko Jaric in the face Tuesday night. Bryant After getting his shot blocked by Jaric, Bryant flailed his arms and caught Jaric in the face with 58.7 seconds left in regulation Tuesday. Bryant was called for a foul on the play. Bryant struck San Antonio guard Manu Ginobili in the face in similar fashion with two-tenths of a second left in the fourth quarter of the Lakers' 96-94 overtime loss Jan. 28 against the Spurs. Bryant was not called for a foul on that play, but was suspended for the Lakers' next game. Bryant was suspended for what league disciplinarian Stu Jackson called driving "a stiff arm backward." </div> http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2790534 This is so BS. I'm so sick of this league cracking down on Kobe, yet they let LeBron slide for nearly decapitating Wade. Didn't Shaq have a hard foul the other week, as well? Whatever, at least he gets to rest tonight. He needs it after all he played last night. I don't see how we're going to win tonight.
<div class="quote_poster">Mamba Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Our starting L: Smush Mo Cook Kwame Bynum ???</div> Good question, I imagine they go small ball since Milwaukee also uses a 3 guard lineup of Redd, Bell, Mo Williams. Smush-Sasha-Evans-Cook-Bynum would be my guess. Has to be the ugliest Laker lineups I've ever seen on the court at one time.
Sasha starter again? I don think Kwame will start, because Ronny will not play tonight, and we need a big men coming from bench who can play at PF and C.
I don't know about you guys, but my natural shooting motion includes a wild elbow flair in a completely different direction than I shot But Kobe does nothing wrong. Don't worry, you guys will still probably beat the Bucks
<div class="quote_poster">pablitocesar Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Sasha starter again? Smush-Shammond-Evans-Cook-Bynum! Woohoo! Greg Oden, here we come! Wait, no...we want Durant!!! Eh, I can't decide. Let's go Durant! What a pathetic lineup, if Bynum isn't featured I'll piss myself. Let me tell you what's going to happen tonight. Mo Evans is going to think he's Kobe's replacement so he's going to come in here and try to lead the offense and jack shots up that he can't even make when he's wide open. Smush is going to get jealous and start jacking shots up. During this time, Bynum will be completely ignored and he'll find a way to sneak off court and find his froot loops and shower, but nobody will notice because we don't feed him the ball anyways, hence the fruit loops. Turiaf will be jumping up and down like a flippin' monkey and sprain his ankle in the process (btw, that would be hilarious if Turiaf injured himself jumping up and down). Kwame, on the other hand (which suck) will be scouting the crowd for vendors so he can buy some peanuts that he can throw at the referees. That's the only time we'll ever see Kwame run full speed down court. Where is Sasha in all of this? Pouting because he broke a fingernail and his brother bought him the wrong size shirt from Hollister. Meanwhile, Aaron McKie plans on going to the local theater to catch the midnight premiere of 300, using his senior citizen discount. Ah, the life of the Lakers...
The Lakers organization needs to publicly complain about the BIASED officiating and suspensions levied on Kobe. It's events like this when I wish Dr. Buss was more outspoken like a Mark Cuban. Mark Cuban would hire a group of video specialists to chart other players flailing their arms after a jumpshot and compile it for the league to watch. It's really unfair for Kobe to be scrutinized, because he's not the only player who flails his arms after a jump shot, trying to draw a foul. Reggie Miller made a career out of kicking his legs out to draw contact. Stu Jackson made a terrible decision the first time he suspended Kobe, and instead of making ammends for it, he escalates the situation by making another jackass decision. EDIT: They have the video on ESPN on the link. If you watch the play, Jaric actually initiates the contact first by running into Kobe, and then Kobe's arm catches him across the face.
all Kobe is trying to do is get some contact to get a call... people always try to guard him with their face cuz they can't guard him any other way. This combination is what is causing this BS suspensions.
fuk tha po-leece, fuk, fuk, fuk tha po-leece (po-leece meaning the people who suspended kobe) yeah lakers are really suckin, if we win tonite im gonna be kind off pissed that it takes a suspension of your best player to wake the team up, but we wont win so ill pissed that we lost again, damn it!
Phil's got the balls to criticize the league, I'd love to see him do it. Mitch is too busy scouting talent...well, that's talentless.
