Manning had a team last year that could have gone undefeated, had home field advantage throughout the playoffs, and a Super Bowl in a dome and he still choked like the inbred, corn fed mo fo he is. Just look at the shape of the guy's head. How can brilliance come in that package? The '05 Colts were one of the best teams I've ever seen play and they didn't even win a playoff game. If they had Marino in his prime you bet your ass they would have won XL.</div> So Manning is the most overrated player in the game today hands down and Marino isn't. Despite the fact that Manning is on pace to match or break some of Marino's record. Despite the fact that Manning threw 49 TD's in one year which is an NFL Record. Note: The above was to make a point not to take anything away from Dan "the" Man Last year was the first season where Manning had a defense to go along with an high powered offense. I'm not a big Manning fan but you'd have to be a fool to call an elite QB overrated.

I'm not a big Manning fan but you'd have to be a fool to call an elite QB overrated.</div> I'm torn when it comes to Peyton Manning. He is a hard worker and an excellent passer, but I have a hard time putting him into the elite catagory. First, Peyton has had weapons on his offense that Marino only dreamed about. Marino NEVER had an Edgerrin James in his backfield. I've heard Peyton say that a large portion of his 49 tds came on play action which means that the threat Edge presented helped him break Dan's record. Dan threw 48 tds when everyone knew that he was going to throwing the ball. They still couldn't stop him. What Peyton hasn't shown yet is that indomitable will to make his teams win. Marino was 2nd all time to Elway in 4th quarter comebacks. If the Dolphins kept the game close, Marino would find a way to win the ballgame. Marino led the Dolphins to more victories than they probably should have won given the talent around him, where everyone is scratching their heads as to how the Colts haven't won more given how loaded that team has been. A more accurate comparision for Peyton Manning would be Dan Fouts. Fouts put up huge numbers on a loaded Chargers offense, but he wasn't a legend like Marino, Montana, Elway or Favre.
I like Shaun Alexander but for now I'm wondering if it's him or the line that makes him look good. I guess if he puts up the big #'s withou Hutchinson then I'll not mention it again
