D.J. Augustin, point guard for the Texas Longhorns, said Monday that he's definitely returning for his sophomore season.

"I need to get better. I need to work on my game," Augustin said. "I need to work on my defense and get stronger and quicker."

Augustin also said that star freshman Kevin Durant has told his teammates that he's coming back.

"But Kevin's a humble guy, so he's probably going to say he's coming back whenever he's asked that question," Augustin said. </div>

    Title is misleading.

Just today he said he's not sure on ESPN chat. You hear things like this all the time, it's a common thing in college ball. I wouldn't put much into this, especially since it's the begginning of March and the NCAA Tournament hasn't even started.

Everyone always says this. I wouldn't put anything into it right now. Maybe if he's still saying it at the end of March or in April...than maybe, but til then, no way.

He has made clear that he is staying to finish out all of his classes this year. This does not mean he will play basketball for Texas next year, its just that he's a smart kid and wants to finish his classes. Also, if he leaves early Texas will lose scholarships.

I think it's safe to stop the speculation and just say, Oden and Durant are both probably going to come out after this year, unless we officially hear otherwise.

Some random quotes at this point, no big deal. If facts pop up that might actually prove it true, then we can talk about it. [IMG]

Durant is as good as gone, I don't see him staying unless Rick Barnes is going to give him half his salary.....

Kevin Durant is growing to the NBA. If he doesn't he is an idiot. He is the best player in the NCAA hands down. He isn't going to improve his game anymore at this level.

He, like everyone else is probably sick to death of the stupid speculation that is going on with him and Oden leaving. They should just wait till the end of the tourney before even bringing it up. He says he is staying but that is probably to keep team morale and unity together.

The guy is leaving for the NBA. Face it.

Totally agreed. Not improving anymore playing against people couple of levels below him.

According to PTI, Oden just said that developed offensive players should go to the NBA, and he does not feel his offense is developed, and that also, he thinks he needs more time to mature before entering that world. That's what he said according to PTI but I can't find the quote. It actually sounds surprisingly close to saying he's coming back. That would surprise me.

Yeah, hes definitely going. Anyone see Danny Ainge with Durant's mom during the Big 12 Tournament. Funny to see.
