Would you want to trade Andrew Bynum this summer to get Kobe some help? Trading away Bynum could kill the future. (maybe). But, are we going to waste Kobe's prime years on a devoloping center, or get a championship run going? do u want kobe to get a championship? or waste his prime years away and wait for Bynum to devolp. Thoughts?
The Lakers shouldn't make this decison over the summer. If they do commit to trading Bynum, then it needs to be next February or midway into the season. The organization will have a better idea of where the team is at in comparison to the rest of the league, and it also buys time to further evaluate Bynum's progress. As we've witnessed this year, you can never predict injuries, so making a blockbuster move in the offseason would be premature IMO.
With the exeption of the Mo Evans trade, the Lakers recent trade history is pretty horrible, so trading someone like Bynum is not something I'd like. But for someone like KG? Yeah, because he still has many years left, and what is to say that Bynum doesn't signs for another team in a few years?

He can sign a deal that will handicap the Lakers though, if he doesn't want to be here (which I think is more likely than some think--we don't make a conscious effort to get him involved on offense, and it pisses him off), he can sign an offer sheet that could do cap hell to the Lakers.
JERMAINE ONEAL id rather have him over kg easier to get from pacers smaller contract dont give up much players younger than kg

If push comes to shove, the Lakers could always work a sign and trade with another team. What's going to be interesting is the fact Bynum is so young. Technically he could max out twice before all is said and done, just like LeBron. Maybe he'll want a similar deal LeBron took with Cleveland, signing for just 3 years.

Lol Bynum doesn't look like a smart kid, like LeBron does. Maybe it's just me though. I think Bynum will be looking for a commitment of years, money, and the ball.
I love Bynum and all, but the guy has a baby face. I can't really imagine him being the face of a franchise. Not saying it won't happen, but the guy has a baby face... If it wasn't for his height, he'd definetly look like a little kid IMO

i think they should make a deal this off season and try to get some help. bynum can turn out to be a good player but with a little more help with odom and kobe you can make a chip run now.

Who cares if the kid has a baby face, so does Dwight Howard, yet he's looked as the face of the franchise already. I don't see what the issue with that is.

I would highly expect him to be more of a focal point of the Laker offense next year when he's developed even more. As for that being a reason for him leaving...that would not be a good thing. If he ends up leaving, I really hope the Lakers manage to a sign and trade and at least get someone back in return.
Im a Laker fan first, and a Kobe fan 2nd. I've always been that way with the Lakers. Fortunately, most of the stars retired in LA so I didn't have to feel like I betrayed them.
I'm not saying Bynum won't ever be a franchise player. I just said it's hard to imagine a franchise player with a baby face... Of course he's still young, at 19. But he still seems like a kid to me

Kind of like Jadakiss looking like a little fat kid. Anyway, I'd say trade away Bynum if it meant getting pieces for a championship for Kobe.
