Well, the Sixers are looking great against the Lakers, and I highly doubt they lose this one. With that being said, if they win tonight, that will mark, what, a 6 game winning streak? So much for ending up with a top pick. Don't look now, but they may even sneak into the playoffs and make us lose our own first rounder (lottery protected for the Glenn Robinson trade, yes Glenn Robinson)
Andre Iguodala with 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. Samuel Dalembert with 12 points and 16 boards.
Well scoring a top pick seems to be getting less likely and likely. Maybe we should just focus on reality, or maybe we might get lucky in the draft lottery. But the 76ers have won six straight, if we can get just a star player out of the draft rather than a superstar in Oden or Durant maybe thats all this team needs? I'm just tired of looking at the score and hoping this team loses, I'm not going to worry about the draft until May-June.
Let's be honest does anyone here actually think we will make the playoffs? There is no way we will finish with a better record than the Heat, Nets, or even the Knicks to be honest. We are hot right now, but it is not going to last long. Don't worry we are still going to be in the draft lottery.
Blur said it all. I just can`t see this team after all that has happen finish with a better record than the Heat, Knicks, etc. I just can`t see it.
no worries,we'll end up being the 8th seed in the playoffs and we'll win the championship....wishful thinking
Well either way, this is the deepest draft in a long time..so even if we end up with say...the 8th pick, we still got a shot at a Al Horford or Yi JianLian.
With the way this team is playing right now, I wouldn't be surprised to see us playing playoff basketball. There might be a certain comparison between the Eagles and Sixers this season (anyone else see it?).
Im gonna tell you why this whole situation sucks for the sixers. They are playing great right now and the reason being is because they finally have some chemistry without Ivo. The problem is by next year everyone wont be suprized by Philly's play. Defenses will simply Key in on Iggy leaving Philly with another Horrible season. The worst thing that can happen for Philly is to keep winning because without that number 1-3 pick they have problems. If they make the playoffs you can hang your future up.
Thing is, I don't really mind us making the playoffs. If we do, we will most likely be the 8th seed, so we can still land a pretty high pick in this deep draft. Plus, you factor Denver's recent struggles, we may be able to use these two picks to trade up, or simply stay put and land some good prospects considering this draft is so deep. Only problem? If we make the playoffs, we lose our own first rounder since Billy King traded it away for Glenn Robinson. Remember Glenn Robinson? The pick is lottery protected, so the only way we will be able to keep the pick is if we miss the playoffs....

This team is coming together as a unit without the "cancer" that we've had for the past 10 years. Do you mean to tell me that defenses aren't keying in on Iguodala now? Are you watching any of these Sixer games? Defenses are keying in on Andre, but then we always have someone to step up their game. Last night it was Willie Green who stepped up and became the number two guy, another night it might be Kyle Korver, then Andre Miller might come in and chip in 25 for you in a game. That's the beauty about the team I've been watching for the last 7 games, and it's been fun to watch with number 3 dribbling down the court. Iguodala doesn't have to score to be effective either. In fact, I would love for a defense to stick two or three guys on him. He has vision (unlike Iverson) to find guys open in traffic, and (as we've seen this year) put up over 10 dimes in a game. Even if we make the playoffs, we'll still have 2 first round picks this year (one being potentially in the lottery). Like or hate Billy King, he's done a pretty good job in drafts in recent years. If we land at number 15 and 30, I'm sure we can package some picks to move into the late lottery and get a guy like Jeff Green. Adding him to the 4 (or 3) would greatly boost our lineup as we'll get that number two guy "to take the pressure off Andre" making the defenses next year less "surprized".
The whole Warrior board is rooting for the 6ers. Give us your pick! Seriously though, the playoffs aren't that much of a pipe dream for the 6ers, theres a lot of teams falling apart while they're going on a streak. Indy lost 8 in a row (Mullin totally raped Walsh/Bird ), Orlando's been slipping, NJ lost 5 in a row, NY is flaky. The 6ers still have 19 games left and 10 games are at home. The next 5 games will be a tough stretch but the following 14 are all winnable and many are against teams that they are in the PO race with (NJ, NY, Orlando, Indy) and all of the last 15 games are against teams in the East. Oh and the pick is actually top 15 protected so I think they'd have to get past the 8th spot to give it up. Theoretically the 8th seed in the east will have the worst record of all playoff teams so that will be the fifteenth pick (?).

The problem was you have to surround Allen with defensive minded players who don't want to score, yet can still contribute to games. I find it awfully strange Billy King astrayed from that formula when the 76ers lost in the finals, it went downhill from there. But I definitely don't want to make the playoffs still. Especially since the 76ers really don't have a legitamate chance at winning it all or beating the top Eastern teams at that.
