I made a thread about this a while back and can't find it. Anyway, what do you guys eat before a basketball game?
I drink coffee and eat a banana. Something you never want to eat prior to a game is a salami sandwich.
I went with a penut butter sandwich and a bottle of water most of the time. Maybe a power bar or somethin.
I usually don't eat before a game which is probably bad, but I do during important games. Usually I'll have a bowl of pasta or some mac n' cheese. Other times I'll just have some fruit and a Red Bull.
<div class="quote_poster">Mamba Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Red Bull is terrible for you before a game, and in general.</div> It's addicting, and it gets me going during a game. Whenever I don't drink it, I feel lazy on the court especially on D.
Milo's sick. It's like Ovaltine I guess, but tastes great and is supposedly good for you. I barely eat before games. Maybe some fruit or a glass of milk, but full-out meals have to be 2-3 hours before.
Heres what NOT to eat....I learned from experience....Both are incredibly BAD BAD choices. Taco Bell or KFC.
MILO is off the chainz. You guys should try ... Bananas are good - lots of potassium which prevents muscle cramping and stuff. Pasta is good - lots of energy, I haven't tried it but I have Health Science II class ...
<div class="quote_poster">J_Ray Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I usually don't eat before games, I just don't like the feeling after you start running.</div> Same. I just eat eggs and a bagel for breakfast and then fruit or a power bar before a game. I just feel slow and lethargic playing any sports just after I ate a meal or anything greasy.
I never ate before a game. I was always at my best with an empty stomach... but i'd drink a lot of Gatorade and water. Then just gorge myself with food afterwards.
