Its a no-risk signing IMO. I don't think it will ever pan out to anything, but I don't think it was necessarily a bad signing.

I am not crazy about it. But, it is a no risk/decent reward. Marcus was signed as a WR/QB/specialist.

I am sure if he makes the squad that he will fill a slash type role that Randle El had in Pittsburgh. Best case scenario, he lands on the practice squad then goes to NFL europe next year then who knows.

I tend to agree with you on this signing, but I do think it sends a bit of a mixed message to other players on the team. First Ricky and now Marcus ... I will not be suprised if we see Saban sign Onterrio Wizzanator when he becomes available mid-season.

Reciepe for success? I don't think it is.

I don't think there's anything wrong with what Miami is doing. Taking mimimal chances on "low character guys" has worked out pretty well in the past for the Raiders and for the Vikings (any Dennis Green coached team).

    Low risk. High reward.

There is also the CFL if he gets cut. Toronto owns his bargining rights, that would be a good but druggie backfield with character problems.

My only question is Saban starting to take to many risks..

So far Ricky one hasn't hurt the team but he is out for the year now so when he comes back is that trust still there. Sure Saban trust him but what about everyone else.

Vick is a grea athlete but his track record horrible.

He's a risk taker and one of these days one has to come back and haunt him.

I think people are making too much of this signing. Every team has marginal players on their team at this point of the year. Marcus Vick is on the team now, but who is to say that he will be on the team after the preseason cuts?
