I did alright today (11 out of 16), but these matchups really weren't that interesting (aside from the VCU/Duke one). I probably made the mistake of looking for upsets when they really weren't there. Tomorrow should be more interesting, because I have Winthrop, Georgia Tech, Creighton, and Albany all making major upsets.

In the end though, these don't make much of difference. Next round should be more interesting, because I made predictions that could very easily give me a huge advantage or set me back badly.

I also went that way. Then I have VCU losing to UCLA after.

    Same here.

Umair, typically in March Madness picking all the favorites will kill you. I have lost 5 games so far, but all I've lost in those 4 games is 4 points, none of the teams that I have lost I had winning more than just the opening round game, so it doesn't really hurt me that much.

You have Albany too? Amen! I love that pick. It's an upset pick that no one is talking about but is very possible. I watched Albany against Vermont the other night and they were amazing under the boards. Vermont's the best rebounding team in the NCAA, and Albany made them look like a JV team.

And it's not so much that I'm high on Albany as it is that I'm down on Virginia. They're talented as hell, but they rely so much on Sean Singletary's play. If he has an off night, so does Virginia, because he forces way too many shots and doesn't play within their offense. It's sad, because he's a very talented scorer in his own right, but if you take him off that team, they're a possible title contender.

Does anyone else have Illinois over Va Tech tomorrow?

I do and I made that pick not just for the fact that I know they have the ability to win, but because it would be a shame not to pick my favorite college getting out of the first round. [IMG]

I then have them going out to Southern Illinois in the next round though.

I think people overlook that matchup, because Albany's such a low seed. But I'm not that impressed by Virginia either. Guard play is important in the tournament, but they live and die by the play of a couple of players. Albany's going to absolutely destroy them in the post.

At least they lose to a team from your state, lol.

    Yeah true, lol.

The media here is anticipating this match up. They've been going on about it all evening.

Every upset I picked hasn't come true. Both Virginia and UNLV wound up winning in the end.

One thing that I have as an advantage though is that these are all just one-and-done picks I made. None of these teams (sans Duke) went further than round two in my bracket.

If Creighton and Wisconsin manage to win, then I won't be worrying to much yet.

I picked Southern Illinois to beat Holy Cross and V-Tech to beat Illinois. I have V-Tech beating Southern Illinois. Was this a good move? I think this was one of my two upsets.

I really don't think it matters given your Sweet 16, Elite 8, etc.

    Seriously though, only two upsets?!?!
