    The road sucks.

As for Baron: I don't think the Warriors would get nothing for Baron if they made a deal. Baron has to have some value, especially since his contract is about to expire within a year or two. I don't want the Warriors to trade Baron for nothing, but I wouldn't be upset if he did get traded for a good players who is more durable. Baron is a Warrior until the end of the season. What happens after that is beyond me. If his knees continue to be questionable then I'd start looking for trades.

The main focus right now is defending the home court vs. Dallas now. So all that offseason stuff can wait until that time in my opinion. The Warriors need to win. Let's see Long Beach State just made the NCAA tournament for the first time in 12 seasons. Hopefully the Warriors can make the NBA playoffs for the first time in like 13 seasons. That is my hope [IMG]

If Baron's knees don't hold up, nobody would want him, or if they did they would get steal deal (like we got from NO). If his knees do hold up, why trade the only player who carry the team?

It is frustrating, though, not knowing what you're going to get with him. He's so DAMN good at times, but he just goes too hard. Nellie played him WAY TOO MANY minutes to begin the season, and he wore down. IF JRich was healthy from the get go, and Monta was reliable from the get go, then Baron wouldn't have needed to play 48 minutes some of those games. I mean, there were games when he didn't even sit out 1 second.

With everyone healthy, Baron can get the rest he needs to hold up long term. Will it ever happen? I dunno. I'd like to think next year that he, JRich, Monta, and Beans will all play 82 games. But who knows.

The recent stretch of the 6 or 7 losses in a row followed by 3 wins in a row, then the loss to Portland proves how important Baron is to the team. If we trade him we're not going to get anything back. IMO he should get at least another season now that Ellis is competent coming in and playing PG fairly well for 20-30 minutes a night. That way Baron can play 30-33 minutes a night and hopefully last longer, in the mean time we could draft a PG and develop him and he'd be ready by the time Baron is gone or hope Monta will be a good PG by the time Baron leaves.

Right now there are no quick fixes in which we trade Baron and remain even close to as good of a team as we are right now (which isn't even very good to begin with). Baron isn't going to get us a big man, it doesn't even matter what you package him with. Teams will want guys who are younger, more durable, lower paid. The best we could do is to move him to a team who needs a PG (Cleveland, Atlanta, Miami, Orlando, etc) for 2 or 3 role players and a late 1st round pick, at best.</div>

I agree Baron's trade value is low. The same with JRich, so trying to trade one or the other or both isn't going to net us the big man we need. The best we can do at this point, is to believe in the full strength core of Baron-JRich-Jax-AL-AB, and try to develop around them. The big man or point forward will likely have to come from the draft. That's why I've been promoting the idea of trying to get a real good draft pick in 2007 and have a shot at Oden or Durant.

As for trades, I would consider trading Monta in a deal if it could net us a big man like Pau Gasol, KG, Oden or Durant, but likely we'll have to deal AB instead.

Either way, there isn't a quick and easy fix because we're close to being stuck in purgatory again.

I wouldn't trade Monta or Beans for any pick in this draft. If it were LeBron, then okay. But even with Oden's hype and Durant's great play, it would still be tough to give up two guys in Monta/Beans who are playing like future all-stars.
