I've been waiting for this game since last week. Watch the Warriors win and finally get some respect.
I think he means that, because the Mavs are on a historical win streak, and will be trying to set a new team record tonight, that if the Warriors win, and prevent that, they will get some national recognition in the news. Because the Warriors hardly ever get mentioned in the national media (sports center, USA Today, etc) even when they win, I can understand what Carter is saying. For once, the Warriors would actually be part of the story, lol.
<div class="quote_poster">Carter Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I've been waiting for this game since last week. Watch the Warriors win and finally get some respect.</div>...and then watch them get blown out by some pathetic team that appears to be even worse than they are...

Respect is apparently an award in this sense. The Warriors are <u>finally</u> getting something that they didn't have: Respect. What if they beat Dallas and lose the over half of the rest of their games? where will that respect go? Today's Warriors will have to do much more to gain "some respect"...It'll be a helluva win if they beat Dallas though. "finally get some respect"
Dude? Focus on the game? Who cares what someone said about "respect", WHO CARES. This is a game thread, not a discussion on what the word respect means.

LMAO after poking Howard in the eye, Dallas calls a timeout and Barnes just went up and DECKED Harris.
Golden State is actually doing the impossible. They're up eleven on the Mavs with roughly seven minutes to go in the first half, 46-35. The Mavs can't really get much going outside of Dirk though. It seems like every shot Howard takes is a brick. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">LMAO after poking Howard in the eye, Dallas calls a timeout and Barnes just went up and DECKED Harris.</div> What?!?! He threw a punch? I turn away from the tv for two minutes to read JBB, and that's what I miss?

Chill buddy, I was just saying that we might earn respect if we beat the best team in the league.

We're in March. Otherwise known as "Teasing Month" where all the not-so-good NBA teams pull out impressive wins and drive their fans crazy. "WHY CAN'T THEY PLAY LIKE THIS ALL THE TIME?"

I think they could beat almost anybody in the league if they beat Detroit on the road. EDIT: BTW, this is exactly why I want the Warriors to get the 8th seed. Not only would it be great to see them in the playoffs for the first time in a million years, they also give Dallas a tough time. 64-51 Golden State as I write this.
This is why I say the Mavs don't want the Warriors to be the 8th seed. Theres no way the Warriors would win a series against them, but they would definitely make them work hard. Expect a 3rd or 4th quarter brain fart by the Warriors.

Warriors vs. Mavericks. That is one intense matchup, I must say. The Warriors have one very good second quarter so far this game to go up 64-51 like Bobcats said. Now it's time to keep it going. Keep on pouring onto the lead. As far as respect -- it's all secondary. Maybe it would be better if some teams had no respect for the Warriors and took this team lightly. As long as the team is confident and playing hard, respect doesn't matter. The Warriors aren't even part of the NBA to most people, so it doesn't matter to me if they decide to respect the Warriors or not. I bet even if the Warriors do win, the sports coverage will be all about how the Mavs lost, moreso than how the Warriors won. I mean for peeps sake, when the Warriors beat the Grizzlies the last time, the whole coverage focused only on Mike Miller's shooting. I think at some quick point before the end of the clip did they say the Warriors won, and then moved on.

I mean, over Sacramento AKA the most boring team of all time, hell yeah! Plus Baron is a good playoff performer...
