<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>In his first meeting with the press, QB Joey Harrington indicated Dolphins coaches give him more precise direction than in Detroit: ''We go over in meetings, if this happens, then you [throw] here . . . As opposed to situations in the past, where if it gets cloudy, then you might want to think about throwing here. . . .
''I've always played better in systems where they give you answers. [Quarterback coach Jason Garrett] is very thorough in the meetings. There's no stone left unturned. Every time I have a question, he has an answer. And if he doesn't, he goes and gets it.''
Mechanically, coaches have altered how he drops back in the pocket. ''All the things they changed in Detroit, we're changing back to things I was really comfortable with. It's a complete fresh slate, and I love it.''
So what went wrong in Detroit? ''How much time you got?'' Harrington said. ''In order to change results, you have to change your attitude. I was criticized when I came in because I was too positive, I was too upbeat, I was too optimistic. That always really confused me. Why would you criticize somebody for trying to change the way things have been? In my time there, I don't think the attitude ever changed.
''We had pieces in Detroit. I don't necessarily think we had a direction. That's what I loved about this situation -- the control Coach Saban has over this team.''
Is his confidence shaken from his Detroit experience? ''Why would it be?'' Harrington said. ''It's a learning experience. I learned what kind of players I want to surround myself with, how I want to attack certain situations, what to do when things don't go well.''</div>
2 additional thoughts; 1) I read that Joey had problems throwing timing routes a staple of not only the WCO but Martz's offense but has no problem w/ dump off passes or deep balls. 2) I can not confirm or deny this but read the 6th round pick (spent on JH) is Miami's until the 2007 draft. So, if Miami uses it in the supplemental draft then Detroit is SOL until 2008.

Mariucci has to be seething. He can't fire back. He's got $11 million coming from the Lions for two years. If he comes out and rips Harrington and the organization he could lose that money. He can't say a word, and he knows it.

"Back in the day when Monte Clark had, like, four years left on his contract when he got fired. He didn't say a word for four years, and the day (that was up), Monte -- there was a magazine called Sport Detroit -- he just ripped Russ Thomas from stem to stern. In two years we may hear from Steve Mariucci. "

Dolphins pick for Harrington could come in 2008
Apparently the sixth (or fifth) round draft pick the Lions received for Joey Harrington could come in 2008.

May 16, Miami Herald: Saban wouldn't reveal the playing threshold for what would turn the conditional 2007 draft pick the Dolphins tossed Detroit for Joey Harrington from a sixth-rounder to a fifth-rounder. But, he said, neither draft pick is frozen.

''It's a conditional pick until the season is over, but we have use of the pick,'' Saban said. Should the Dolphins use the 2007 draft pick in a supplemental draft, the conditional pick Detroit gets becomes a 2008 pick.

The one thing i wish would happen is when the lions and dolphins play in detriot someday, and Harrington is starting, him to throw 4 TDs in front of the crowd who booed him.

Stop wishin and go fishin ... never gonna happen. It'll be the Princess' worst nightmare if Culpepper can't go on Thanksgiving.

    I'm praying for it!

Let me reiterate, yet again. Daunte is ahead of schedule and may start on 9/7. The plan is to have Harrington spell Culpepper to avoid swelling & stiffness in DC's knees.

According to the latest Sporting News, JH's refusal to negotiate w/ the donkeys forced Denver to trade up and draft Cutler.

Had Joey gone to the mile high city then Denver would've stayed put and drafted Maroney.

Joey's insistence on wanting to come to S Fla may indirectly cause the end of the reign of the overhyped & overrated Plummer as a Bronco. If that isn't a reason to admire JH then I don't know what is.

LOL ... I'd say Bronco fans owe the Princess a Thank You card! Denver gets the QB many thought was the best in the draft and Miami way overpayed for a Girlieman bust.

    Was that a joke.

1st.. the Patriots are better than a team that they lost to twice
2nd Peyton Manning is the most overrated player hands down (not liking the hands down, Peyton is an elite QB right now)
    3. Lions going to the Super Bowl

    WOW

Many experts also had either Leinart or VY as the best QB available. Cutler won as many games in his college career as ML & Vince won last year. Cutler will be a bust in the West Coast Offense IMO. He would succeed in system like Oakland, Miami, Indy, & the Rams have.

The thing I find curious is that why would Denver want Joey who did not succeed in the Motor City w/ their version of the WCO?
