Collison suffered a grade one sprain of his left ankle on Tuesday during practice, ESPN.com's Andy Katz has learned. The guard is listed as probable for UCLA's first-round game against Weber State in Sacramento on Thursday. UCLA earned a No. 2 seed in the West Regional of the tournament.

Collison missed time earlier this season with a shoulder injury.

The sophomore averaged 12.6 points and a team-leading 6.0 assists for the Bruins (26-5) this season.</div>

Hopefully he gets better soon. The Bruins have some easy matchups in the beginning, so they may not need him as much early on.

Don't forget that West Virginia beat them without Collison. The same WVU team that didn't make the tourney. Collison is a HUGE part of the team and they need him badly. Hopefully for them he can play and be effective.

I definitely didn't mean to underscore how important Collison is to this team. My point is that we may be able to afford playing with a "not 100%" Collison early on, because we have some easy matchups.

btw, even though WVU didn't make the tourney, I thought they were the type of team that could beat any team on any given night, if they were shooting the ball well. They would've been a great tourney team.
