who do you think are the strongest guards currently in the NBA? as far as strength.

    PG: Baron Davis
SG: Dwyane Wade, the dude is hella cut and takes a lot of abuse.

Physically speaking, Marbury and Nate Robinson are pretty strong for their sizes.

...Just because you're cut doesn't mean you're strong...

Baron Davis, Earl Boykins, and Kobe are three that come to mind.

Baron Davis is probably the strongest PG, Chauncy and Marbury are probably the next closest and Arenas and Miller are both pretty strong too.. At SG guys like Bonzi Wells, Kobe Bryant, Jason Richardson, Dwayne Wade, Corey Maggette (if you count him as a guard) are all really strong.

Apparently my man Shannon Brown benched 320 lbs. his freshman year at Michigan State, three and a half years ago. For a 6'2" combo guard, that's amazing. I can see it though. The guy is ripped -

Guys like Earl Boykins and Nate Robinson can bench so much because their frames are so small. Their arms are stumpy and they barely have to lift the weight. Not that they aren't strong, but for a guy with a huge frame like Shannon Brown's (longer wingspan than 6'10" Paul Davis), 320+ lbs. as an 18 year old is just amazing.

he's benching over twice his weight how are you gonna take that from him because hes small?
but in reality a bench does nothing to enhance a guys playing anyway just a way to get man boobs.

True, but a 5'5", 133 lbs. guy benching 300 is simply unheard of.

Not really. I used to lift weights competitively in high school, and I'm a bigger guy (6'4"/6'5"ish), and I'd always get out-lifted by all the midgets at school. I had a good friend in particular who was 5'something that maxed out at 350 lbs. Shorter arms are a bigger advantage than you think.

In fact, most of the competitive weight lifters around his height I know were in the 400 range.

Eric Snow, he doesn't have the physique some of these players have, but he holds his position well when larger players try to back him down in the post.

I agree with VC about shorter limbed people having it easier when they bench press. It's just simple physics involved. Shorter armed people have less distance to push the weight and also less distance to bring it back down.

Can you think of anyone that isn't a Knick? [IMG]

Anyways, I think Chauncey and Baron are really strong .. not because they're only "cut" .. but also because they can post up and have the edge in the paint over just about any point guard.
