Oh I forgot, we might not even need Bonzi (According to Durvasa, Locke, Mook & Foo[IMG])</div>

I dunno why you pulled my name out there. I barely even commented on this thread. Right now I don't know where I stand on the Bonzi issue. He could be great, but he can also be disasterous. Anyways all I know is that there isnt really any room to fit both Bonzi and Snyder on the rotation.

But there also really isnt any indication that we do need Bonzi. He hasn't really shown in the games hes played, that he is a needed piece in order to win. Now you can blame JVG all you want for his poor playing, but the fact is JVG is going to coach us in the playoffs so we are stuck with him. So if Bonzi plays badly under the JVG system, then nothing is really gonna change in the playoffs.

<div class="quote_poster">Blurr#7 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Wow, I've watched Yao and tracy BOTH go cold and the Rockets offense look like a NBDL team. I've also watched the team as a whole shoot 30+ threes and get destroyed on the boards(figure that out). How can having a guy like Bonzi as an option off the bench be a bad thing? Bonzi's points usually come from plays goin to the basket(Ask Ginobilli) and let's look at the fact that Bonzi is a great finisher around the basket. You know I don't agree that Juwon should be starting I like Chuck in the line up I agree with Durvasa and Locke on that. But this whole "Bonzi can't help us in the playoffs" thing really makes no sense to me.</div>

Bonzi could help us. I never said otherwise. Would he help us more -- in that bench role -- then Kirk Snyder?

Of course, we can imagine scenarios in which Bonzi could really help us in the playoffs. If Yao and Tracy start sucking, and we can't get any good shots, that would be an ideal situation where Bonzi's value is maximized. But I can also see situations when Bonzi wouldn't help us at all, and in fact might hurt us (if he plays like he did during the regular season). If Yao and Tracy play like we expect they'll play, does Bonzi help us more than Snyder? Honestly, I think that's a toss up. Snyder is quicker, more athletic, less susceptible to an injury or other flake-out in the middle of the playoffs, and he's better at playing off the ball. Bonzi is a talented player, and he can do a lot of things with the ball. But there are so many other factors to consider here.

On the radio yesterday, JVG said he still hasn't made up his mind with Bonzi. He calls the situation "fluid" -- it can change at any time. That's basically my thoughts on it. Bonzi hasn't shown enough this year for me to think he'd definitely help the team, let alone not hurt the team. But at the same time, I know what his abilities are, he's experienced, and that counts for something in the playoffs. It's a tough decision. That's the reality of coaching in the NBA -- decisions are never as simple and black&white as they may seem to us ordinary fans.

Tough decision? Does it really take another serious injury for you guys to understand how important depth is in this league? Think about it. We're not even talkin about putting Bonzi in rotation, we're talkin about having him reactivated for the last couple games and playoffs. I personally feel Bonzi should've been in the rotation. But to not even have him on the squad is a very careless & ignorant decision on JVG's behalf. The guy just doesn't get it! Niether do you. If Tmac (or Snyder) goes down with a injury, not having Bonzi will be JVG's kiss of death as a coach. Especially givin the petty reason why he won't play him[IMG]

Oh? Didn't realize that. Sure, it makes sense to activate him. I'd be surprised if he wasn't activated, actually.

Good to see we're finally on the same page.

    Bonzi whines too much.

He has to realise that he is a SG which means he will get a reduced role no matter what as long as T-mac is on this team.

How many minutes he plays depends on how Tracy performs.
