<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">As each of their home countries was called, more and more people stood.

Afghanistan. Bosnia. China. Honduras. India. Mexico.

Nearly everyone was standing when the tiny Caribbean nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines was named. Adonal Foyle, the tallest man at San Francisco's Masonic Auditorium, then rose to his feet. With hands clasped behind his back, Foyle looked much the way he does while standing for the national anthem before Warriors games.

A few moments later that would become his anthem, too. He raised his right hand and joined 1,150 people from 94 countries Tuesday as they recited the oath that officially made them U.S. citizens. "I don't think there are too many words that can describe this feeling," a beaming Foyle said. "Here we are, all strangers, and yet we're all bonded together with this amazing gift. We're different, but all share something special.

    "This really is America."</div>

Foyle quizzed his team mates on ome of the questions asked on the citizenship test, when asked how they did Foyle replied something like "Lets just say it's a good thing they're citizens already" LOL

This is the biggest achievement of Foyle's NBA career!

Now he's officially an American overpaid scrub!

That is what makes this country great still. Now if we can fix all the other problems that make this country suck...

Yeah, like the politicans and leadership in this country. We got far right old fart "out-of-touch-with-everyday-citizens" politicians that are misusing our armed forces for their own personal or political agendas. Then we got far-left politicians who are becoming so hypocritical, their schtick becomes more transparent with each passing year.

Freakin' Rumsfeld. If there's a guy out there that loves to mess with people that defend our country for a living or volunteer to do it part-time, it is that guy and the "yes-men" he helped promote or he collaborated with. Talk about putting military servicemen in a difficult situation from day 1 because he believed that a smaller, lighter occupation force could sufficiently provide security in a country of decent size. You can attack with a lighter invasion force to knock out conventional army units and military infrastructure, but it always takes more guys on the ground to fully secure a large region. I didn't know why he of all people didn't understand that. Oh, maybe because he had his own personal agenda regarding downsizing
the military and making it into a lighter organization. Wrong time to do it, idiot. Worst defense secretary in the history of the U.S. Period.

Then there's Gore who talks about Global warming and all this environmental crap, but he probably burns energy and causes more global warming than the average citizen. Hey, at least Leonardo DiCapprio at the Academy Awards practices what he preaches by driving a fleet of hybrid cars. What does Gore do? He drives around in gas guzzling private jets and expensive limos or towncars. His estate probably wastes double or more energy than the average U.S. citizen's home. Freakin' hypocrite. Then there's other democrats that are the same way, they'll do anything for a vote and then totally do the opposite because they feel they don't need to set the example. They only need to act out the part and give lip service.

Thn there's a few politicians that have potential, but I'm afraid of what they'll do because they've never dealt with a high pressure situation in their entire political careers.

Politics is always a touchy subject, but Foyle loves this stuff. I'm all for listening when it comes to social politics, but when it comes to foreign politics and politicians talking out of their asses, I just think it causes me stress. I can't believe some of these guys.

This country is great, but it's some people who are leading it that I have problems with.

Well, he has also done a heck of a lot to increase awareness about energy conservation, so even though he does use energy of his own, I'd say his net impact on the energy expenditure in this country is very positive.

True, but what's the point when he preaches about things he doesn't even do himself. Does he really believe in what he's saying?

Lose the battle, win the war. If he has to take a plane somewhere so that he can speak to thousands of college students on a certain aspect of Global Warming, it's worth it. Sure, the plane's exhaust does do a little bit of harm, but it's worth it for the greater good.

I mean, sure he could walk, ride a bike, or take a horse drawn carriage across three states in order to get to the lecture, but that will probably take him a long while. The net effect of his impact on the environment is one which, IMO, is highly positive for this country and this world.

    But what do I know?

There's no problem with using a jet to get places. Obviously one has to be reasonable at the same time. Horse drawn carriage would not be effective to get him where he needs to go, so of course he'd have to chose the best option, even if that means he'd have to take a jet. He could always choose the most fuel efficient one.

The important thing is that he makes an effort to do things he preaches and takes those ideas into consideration when he makes his choices.

Maybe he does do that, I have no clue, however there's something wrong if he's just preaching this environmental stuff without himself living with that in mind. The question is why would he be preaching this stuff if he didn't practice it himself? What are his motives?
