A couple weeks prior to the trade deadline, if everyone recalls, O'Neal was frustrated with the way things were going in Indiana, and said he would assess the situation once the season concluded, if you don't recall here is the article... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"If I can't take this team to another level, I truthfully believe we should go our separate ways at the end of the season," said O'Neal, according to the Indianapolis Star. "I'm saying in general, the bottom line is you play to win. If we don't have a system set to win a championship, if we don't have the crew to win a championship, then what are we doing?</div> http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2722352 Well the Pacers are in the midst of a nine game losing streak, and are two slots out of the playoff picture, in the weak eastern conference. So one can only assume O'Neal is on the edge of his seat waiting to cash his ticket out of Indiana. Should the Bulls look into acquiring O'Neal if/when he becomes available?
Can he opt out or was speaking about a trade? O'Neal has a fat contract. I don't think we would be able too. Unless they want Wallace and someone else.
O'Neal isn't worth his contract, I'm sorry. We need to focus on re-signing quite a few of our most important players first who are free agents after this season. If the Bulls can get him at a lower price then sure, but when that happens the development league will have more fans then the NBA.
I'd love to have O'Neal.. I think he'd fit in wel with his low post game and the fact that he can also shoot. Plus Big Ben and JO on the defensive end is pretty sick, both can get 10+ boards and 2+ blocks. But, we really can't because of his contract like other's have mentioned.
we dont have anyone with a high enough contract 2 match the trade except Hinrich and Wallace which i dont want 2 trade them.
If the Bulls can manage a sign and trade with P.J. Brown and Indiana aren't picky with current players then a deal could happen. Though first round picks don't mean much coming from the Bulls' end right now what with NY doing fairly well to keep in contention. Really, I highly doubt O'Neal could get here until his contract runs out, but the Bulls wouldn't wait that out and I wouldn't take that as a logical choice.
yall want 2 know a guy that i wish was a post-player? Rashard Lewis, isnt he opting out? 2 bad hes not much of a post-player tho because i really dont want 2 get another rookie unless they will make an impact once they get here but knowing Skiles they wont play much. i wouldnt mind having JO tho but would Indiana trade him 2 us.

The thing is that Tyrus and Thabo aren't ready for that type of play. This team needs to gain a fresh great player in free agency because with the team's picks in the upcoming draft the Bulls will be simply lucky to get someone solid that can contribute right away.

We would have had a starting line-up of Kirk Hinrich Erick Piatkowski Adrian Griffin Antonio Davis Eddy Curry He would have gotten fired if he didnt play these guys. 2 bad Rashard Lewis wasnt much a post-player since he is opting out of his contract lol.
Actually Skiles played Ben and Lu because they were considered NBA ready. Duhon played limited minutes at the beginning of his first season, but after showing more promise in practice he was given more playing time and shown that he can play well enough in the league to earn a spot in the rotation. Tyrus and Thabo are not ready, hence why they've had limited roles on this team so far until lately. Tyrus was considered a project and still is. Skiles doesn't play Thabo enough because he hasn't shown that he can play well enough to earn a regular spot in the rotation. However, if you hadn't noticed Skiles is very biased towards players. Khryapa for instance should've earned a regular spot on this team after his solid and consistant performances during the pre-season. Did he earn a spot though? No. A lot of people say it is likely because Skiles doesn't like something about him. Our loss really. I remember when Kirk was a rookie he hardly started and was considered by Cartwright to be a bench warmer. Then Skiles came in and now look where he's at. Obviously something was very wrong with Billy boy and there were no surprises that he was fired at the time. Also, please stop posting back to back with limited information/writing. If you want to add more to your original post just go back and edit. You already mentioned Rashard Lewis as well. Thanks.
If we acquired Jermaine, then the Bulls will be doomed to start from block one all over again. We've come a long way...and in order to satisfy Jermaine's contract, we'd have to give up someone vital to the Bulls. Not worth it. Although the Bulls did lose to Memphis, it is still not worth it.

Remember that Cartwright was fired after 14 games after going 4 - 10 to start the season. He finished his career with the Bulls at a dismal %33 win average. Kirk's career was saved by Skiles IMO. * Also, my bad dude I edited your post by accident. I thought I clicked quote. Tired.
JO is one of the last people I want. He wants too much money and isn't worth his contract. I'd rather use that money to extend Gordon and Deng.
Ot: i have a trade idea, if our team gets an 8th-12th or so on pick than i think we should trade it 4 the rights 2 Luis Scola, Michael Finley, and Melvin Ely for our 1st round pick, second rounders, Viktor Khryapa, Malik Allen, and Andre Barrett. Not sure if some of these guys can b traded so.... Our team PG-Kirk Hinrich 6'3 SG-Ben Gordon 6'2 SF-Luol Deng 6'9 PF-Luis Scola 6'10 C-Ben Wallace 6'9 -Andres Nocioni 6'7 -Tyrus Thomas 6'9 -Chris Duhon 6'1 -Michael Finley 6'6 -Thabo Sefolosha 6'7 -Adrian Griffin 6'5 -Melvin Ely 6'10 and some other guys 2 fill up the roster. I know it sounds stupid 2 trade the pick but how many post-players will b available 2 help our team by the 8-wutever pick? We want 2 win now and 4 the future but if we draft someone who is going 2 have 2 develop will we go all the way? Also, our team doesnt get respect and if we add a rookie all it means is another year of no respect. I know Luis Scola will b a rookie but hes been playing longer than any rookie so hopefully he wont make as many mistakes. Also n this trade we add 2 post-players . And another veteran that can score coming off the bench. All 3 of these guys im trading 4 Paxson has tried 2 get them b4 also. Also with this team Skiles can not possibly make any dumb rotations .
