Take a good sniff Warriors fans...

Smell that? That is the 8th seed in the western conference. Smells good, doesnt it? Ok, that is enough. I hope you enjoyed it while it lasted because that is the last time we will be in the 8th seed for the rest of the season because we have about the toughest schedule of all those competing for the last playoff spot in the west. NO is right there behind the Clippers. With Chris Paul healthy he has singlehandedly brought NO back into the hunt and they are the assasin in the shadows that we never saw coming. All this time we were worried about Minnesota and LA, but now NO will over come us by 1 game. Write it down...[IMG]

I never doubted NO. I had them in the top 5 seeds at the start of the season. It was just a matter of time. That Baron Davis trade gave them a bunch of cap room to get Bobby Jackson, Peja, Tyson, etc. With David West, Hilton Armstrong, Desmon Mason and Chris Paul, DAMN! That's a friggen uber-deep roster.

We'll see if they can gel by PO time. If so, they could beat anyone.

Crap, the Clippers won tonight, and so they are now half game in the lead for the 8th spot. Damn. The Warriors must make the playoffs now. Agh.

The worst was how the Clippers won tonight, blowing a 20 point lead and then falling down 3 and then ended up winning by 1.

Man, what a change from last season. I remember you being one of the more optimistic posters here.

Anyway I'm still optimistic that the warriors have as good a chance as the Clippers, Kings, Twolves, and Hornets. It's going to come down to the last week.

I'm mostly worried about the Clippers and Hornets. I read that the Clippers have the softest finish to their schedule so that could be a factor.

Hornets, have won three of their last four versus the Knicks, Memphis and Grizzlies. Losing to Wizards in between. Prior to that I think they lost 6 in a row. And that was with Paul in the lineup. Although I agree that with Paul and West healthy that the team has come back into the playoff race, but they also faltered when they had a chance to run away with the 8th spot, like all the teams here.

Hornets have a chance, but I wouldn't bet any money on them to take the 8th seed. Let's see how they do against the Lakers, Houston, Dallas, and SA. First three are at home, so that may help them.

It'll be interesting because the hornets and clippers play each other twice in April, including the hornets season finale at LA. That could actually be the deciding game if it gets close.

I'd bet the Hornets finish above the Clips. However, I still have a feeling GS pulls out the 8th seed. It's not like they laid an egg last night, guys. They played a great game and lost a close one to one of the best teams in the league. They put forth enough effort, IMO, and if they continue that, they'll beat a lot of teams before the finish.

...optimistic about the warriors, pessimistic about your fantasy ball team. I'm the opposite of you [IMG]

Yeah, it is hard to stay optimistic. I am just preparing myself so if they do make it I will be suprised...

I don't see how you can call yourself a "fan" and not be optimistic...[IMG]

Aren't you supposed to "root" for the home team?

Oh well, to each his own. But I say: "Go Warriors!!!"

Baron Davis was on a radioshow down here in LA this morning. He's been following all the teams the Warriors are competing with for the 8th seed. He said he almost had a heart attack last night watching the Bucks and Clippers play.

He's confident Golden State is going to take the 8th seed, and said he's going to do everything he can to get back in the playoffs.

Sam Cassell had to leave the Clippers game early with back spasms last night, so there's some good news for the Warriors.

You all need to put on your Laker cheering faces, because the Lakers have some upcoming games against the Hornets and two left with the Clippers.

Warriors are competing and playing well together. That's more important than getting the 8th seed.

Aaron Gray (Pitt) is looking good.
The guy they need is Nocioni. He'd make more of an impact than Oden or Durant (short term, not long term.)

Yeah, I hear you. I'd pretty much given up on the season during that road trip when they got blown out by 20+ every game. But now that they're playing with some heart, I find it hard not to be optimistic.

It'll be a great feeling if they make it though.

Would be nice if the Lakers let the W's win on Sunday, just this once. [IMG]

I'm pulling for the Warriors to make it back to the playoffs. I'm also pulling for the Lakers to face Phoenix again in RND1 to avenge last year's choke job. The Lakers losing on Sunday would help accomplish both.

The Warriors will still make it. We lost to one of the best home teams by only 4 points and we played great throughout the game unless the times Baron sat out. The team is doomed when Baron doesn't stay on the court. But I still think we will make the playoffs after 12 frustrating seasons and knock out the Mavericks in the first round. [IMG]
