BTW, if the Lakers lose only twice from here on out and the Lakers end up with say, 48 wins, what do you guys think are the odds of Kobe winning the MVP? it's just sad to think the Lakers were once on pace for 56 wins before [IMG]

i think his odds will be very high, but he wont win. all the voters care about are wins and dirk and nash have that. dirk and nash are going to have a better chance to because there are going to be those people out there that say kobe is a one dimensional player. It's BS. Kobe should be MVP. MVP stands for most valuable player, if the lakers didnt have kobe, they would not win. this team plays horrible with out him. He's to VALUABLE and the voters dont understand that. if only they watched all of the games. mavs and suns can live without nash and nowitzki.

Hey, you never know what the voters might do, they work on whims.

If Kobe keeps this 40+ point pace up and the Lakers almost get to 50 wins, anything can happen. The Lakers have 5 straight games at home, Kobe has a chance to make some more history.

ya i agree, huevonkiller, id say his chances if he keeps this up and we win more games is 80%. Less than 45 wins, he will have no chance, but more, then its a possibility. doesnt matter, as long as we keep this up and win more games and get to that 6 seed

I wish I could say more than I can think of right now so I'll simply leave it at this:

    Respect.

One guy on MSN changed his personal message to this:

omg plz help me Kobe just blew my nads off

^-I see that after the game lol

What can I say? Four straight 50+ point games, that's just simply amazing. It's easy to forget about with the way Kobe is playing, but all four of those games have been wins as well. Fan or not, no one can truly deny Kobe Bryant is a tremendous player.

    Last four games: (from ESPN)

    ~56.25 PPG

    ~54.3 FG%

    ~51.5 3-point%

    ~93.3 FT%

He efficiently puts points on the board.

Edit- and only 2 turnovers per game (thanks for reminding me NTC).

I change my vote of MVP from Dirk to Kobe. I bet a college team could beat the Lakers if they didn't have Kobe. He is way more valuable to the Lakers then Dirk is to the Mavs.

He is going to get robbed again, even if he gets 6 straight 50 point games and averages 45+. Unless the Lakers win 50 games, or lock that 6th seed, and possibly get 5th( i don't see that hapeining).

Omg this guy is absolutely amazing. Now anytime he doesn't score at least 50, it would be considered a bad game. [IMG]

Mad props to you Kobe. Just incredible.

You know the strange part is that today when I looked at NBA.com, I was like "damn, he makes 50 seems like such a small number to score". I was honestly expecting him to score like 55-65 points. That's the kind of expectations his talents has brought him nowadays. He's just amazing. Four straight 50+ point games is an incredible achievement.

It's incredible how much control Kobe seems to have over his point totals. Usually a lot depends on the match ups, the atmosphere, how the player's feeling, etc. Kobe seems to just decide that he's going to score 50+ to win the game and it happens so easily.

And like Stockton mentioned, the wins make all the difference. As impressive as this run is (and the efficiency that huevonkiller showed is awesome), the fact that LA's won all of those games is what pushes this over the top.

Only 8 turn overs in those 4 games too, simply remarkable.

When u go to yahoo NBA page, it has, of cuz, a big photo of Kobe for dropping 50+ 4 games in a row and it has a small pic of MJ on the right.

Seems like MJ is watching lol
