Why we don't compare Wade, Lebron, Arenas, Tmac, AI etc with MJ as much as Kobe? Every forums, every media are comparing Kobe and MJ. The fact is those ppl who disagree also realize that Kobe is almost as good as MJ....

If I recall, Laker fans didn't appreciate that too much.
I used to get compared to MJ in my hey day also.....THE DREAM > The National Basketball Association....put together collectively.
<div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I disagree, lets just say I think they should at least be able to position themselves to the point where they won't have to face one of the west toughest teams in the first round....it's been 3 years now....</div> Injuries have messed up these talented Laker players you keep talking about. Last year the roster was kind of a joke really (two years before that Kobe missed about 20 games). <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> this isn't about taking less shots or about Wade, this about you saying that MJ is only "slightly" better than Kobe, and what I said is that any player in the top 10 that I listed in their "primes" (which Kobe is in) would get this Laker team out of the first round given 2 or 3 years, meaning Kobe is still far away from being mentioned in the same breath as the men that I listed (and that same thing goes for anyone in the game now except Duncan and Shaq).</div> Jordan never did win much by himself. Also, T-Mac hasn't won jack but I wouldn't put the blame on him for that. He was quite efficient some years in the playoffs.
<div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">that article is on point imo....</div> I stopped reading after it said Wade is the best player in the game. Maybe someday lol..
Jordan vs. Bryant Driving Ability: Kobe Mid-Range: Jordan Long- Range: Kobe Post up: Jordan Athletic: Jordan Basketball IQ: Jordan Ball-Handling: Kobe Offensive Creativity: Even Defensive presence: Jordan Clutch: Jordan It is very close though
<div class="quote_poster">shapecity Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Only a few teams played physical defense, the Pistons, the Knicks, and the Bulls were very physical. Not every team in the NBA played a physical brand of defense. Players were tougher, but how do you measure who took more of a beating? I don't remember Jordan hitting the hardwood very often or getting physically beat down. The only time I remember Jordan getting physically abused was the playoff series against the Pistons and the infamous "Jordan Rules." It's really irrelevant to the original topic anyways. Kobe is more fundamentally sound as an offensive player than Jordan ever was.</div> Jordan however could score 40 easily on those Pistons. Kobe's FG% is lower against good defensive teams. And then he struggles to let his team play "team ball." Which is showing the recent losing streaks of the lakers. He needs 60 points for an overtime win. Jordan could score whatever and his team would blow the other team out

He's averaging over ten a game at about 87% which MJ never did. So I do believe he touches MJ's driving ability.
Kobe in my opinion is a better ball-handler than Jordan. Jordan is an amazing mid-range shooter, better than Mr. Bryant. Also to answer huevonkiller- the Lakers won 112-109 against Seattle last night. They needed another big game from Kobe 46. You can't win in the playoffs like that. Jordan understood that later in his career.

And if the Lakers barely won last night in spite of the fact that Kobe was efficient, and had an all around good game, how the hell is that his fault? Jordan did not win anything by himself.
My point is you can't beat the good teams scoring 40 every night. He is the most talented player I have seen (maybe ever) but you have to run the offense. The Lakers are getting too predictable.

Ok, I change. MJ is the better driver. I'm just remembering all his great drives and dunks right now.

The problem with the Lakers is that as a team they rank 24th on defense.
^But you're gonna have off-nights. Look at Kobe Game 6 of last years series against Phoenix. 50 points, lose. You can't beat the good teams like that. You have to take over games when it's necessary. Wade is the best in the league at that.

I expect him to average about 9 FTs in any era. Thus I said his driving ability "touches" Jordan. Also, the FT line didn't change, Kobe's 87% shooting this year is still remarkable and something Jordan could not do. Kobe's a better pure shooter. <div class="quote_poster">NBA MAN Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">^But you're gonna have off-nights. The Lakers are struggling on defense and can only count on Odom/Luke on some nights. Wade hasn't been winning much this year and the Heat have talented players aside from Shaq (and they play in the East where the Rockets could be 1st in that conference).
