I agree, we have enough shooters as is. We attempt too many anyways. We need the player below: IMO with Tucker, you got some sort of inside game. He is really aggressive when he takes it too the hole. He can also play the 4, and can defend them really good. That's what the Raptors needed, a hustle player and someone who will bring it every night. This is the type of player that always kills the Raptors in games. I just really don't like this move by BC.
Well to be fair, PJ Tucker wasn't going to play any anyways. It's not like waiving him makes us much worse of a team. Let's judge the deal after we see how Jackson turns out.
What I don't understand is why we have so many PG's I mean, jokes aside, D Mart aint that bad for a 3rd string point guard.
Yes he is!!! lol, I don't have love for DMART, except for when he 'coaches' the players, and when he got that 3 to keep the streak alive. We only have 3, including DMART. That's not a lot IMO. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Well to be fair, PJ Tucker wasn't going to play any anyways. But I think if they were gonna get minutes, I think I would much rather have PJ.
wow, there are a lot of Tucker fans here,, hm... I wasn't fan of his tho I agree with some of what you guys are sayin.. like Tucker is hustle guy and that's what we need. But to me, PJ Tucker was just too short to play insde in the NBA.

The only thing that bothers me about this signing is that he was just cut by the Celtics in training camp.</div> I don't think so, the lakers drafted him in 05 but i know he signed a 10 day contract wth the clippers in Feb - - correct me if im wrong but i think he is a FA. And since when is Andrea Bargnani not white, and well, Italien? #1 (06) Marcin Gortat #57 (05) Jackson Vroman #32 (04) Zarko Cabarkapa #17 (03), Casey Jacobsen #22 (02); Jake Tsakalides #25(2000). 2 time MVP steve Nash as well. Not to mention Kris Humphries and Luke Jackson and Rasho Anyway, I have no idea what the league avg is for white guys drafted by a GM but Colangelo i would guess is ahead of the league avg.

<div class="quote_poster">Drunkballer Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">hmm If they were going to make a play for NDBL guy i would of suggested Von Wafer he is averaging 20pts and shoots the 3ball at 45% and on the year he has made 100 3pt shots out of 223 attempts . Conversly while Jackson's 48% is an impressive mark he has only hit 34 total 3pt FGs. Although Jackson has played in less games... I do think Colangelo has a facination with a great white hype type of a player.</div> I thought Von Wafer was a Laker? ....read other post, I guess not. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I've never heard of Luke Jackson? What are the stats on him?</div> His stats are nothing special, he was a high pick, actually on the Raptors radar when he was drafted, but he got drafted by Cleveland, had shoulder problems, and unlucky for him was on a team where Lebron basically played his position. The injuries killed him though, he's a guy that I actually expected to be a nice NBA player.
I hate to judge based on the limited time i saw him but despite his size he did fairly well in the Suns game playing against a much bigger and very athletic Amare. With all the prospects we have I'm surprised that we chose to let him go. I liked him a lot better than Joey Graham.
Drafted after PJ. Tucker: Craig Smith (36th) Daniel Gibson (40th) Paul Milsap (47th) There are a couple other players contributing to the the team that drafted them but its only a marginal contribution. eg. Alexander Johnson, David Noel, Hassan Adams, Ryan Hollins.

2nd round picks are hard to judge, there's only so much to go by. I'm sure the majority of the time was spent evaluating the top tallent because we had the #1 pick. Those 2nd round picks by other teams are impressive but it's part luck also.
It's funny, because the Tucker pick is a lot like those picks too. Neither of those players got respect, because they were undersized for their position (as is PJ), but both turned out great.
