Sacramento Kings forward Ron Artest told multiple teammates this week that he wants to retire at season's end to spend more time with his family, according to club sources. Reached via e-mail, Artest wouldn't confirm or deny making such declarations, telling ESPN.com: "We can talk about it after [the] playoffs." </div> <div align="center">Source</div>
I sincerely doubt he'll retire at season end. Despite all the off and on court issues he's had, he's still a good player and can still be a difference maker for the Kings or anyone else he plays for. It's just a shame that he can't stay out of trouble.
If he's convicted on these charges, I wouldn't put it beyond David Stern to ban him from the league. The guy is an idiot who can't stay out of trouble. He doesn't belong in the league. I wouldn't put it beyond him to retire, either. He's an idiot.
i think he needs to, i mean look at all the trouble he's had in his life, he needs a break, he needs to get his head straight, mature and realize that he's a responsible adult who serves as a role model for young nba fans, i think it would be better for all if he retired
I don't care what happens, the guy is a jackass. Sure, he has great talent for the game, but his problems are affecting him on and off the court. You know, when he played for the Bulls I went to this one game and met the guy. I told him that I'd been following him since college, which was true, and that I was excited to see him playing for Chicago. He just ignored it, gave me a rude facial gesture and turned away like as if I were dirt.

Citing club sources, ESPN.com's Marc Stein first reported that Artest wanted to retire at season's end. Artest said he told teammates he was thinking of retirement because he missed his kids, but he never thought those comments would make it to the public. "I'm totally dedicated to this game," Artest said. "I'm totally ready to still try to make these playoffs"</div> Link Man, he got my hopes up for nothing.

I'm, sorry but artest did pretty well for himself while at St Johns. Regardless of what hes done its a mans right to play the game. His actions may be questionable by many, but hes one of the games great players. Notice i didnt say superstar which he thinks he can be, but has lacked in every way shape and form. Ron Artest is a great great 2 on any team, but as a one he is a miserable failure. He belongs in the league, but if he chooses to leave, i'll miss ya buddy
