When you're feeling down, or depressed, what do you do to make (or try to make) yourself feel better?

Music is a great remedy IMO.

    Think "don't worry, be happy".

You can't change the past so there is no point in regretting anything. You can't change the future because there is nothing to change. Live in the present.

I like to listen to even more depressing music. Makes me feel better. [IMG]

    take a look at what you're eating/drinking.
two examples would be not eating enough healthy foods means you don't get B vitamins, which can lead to depression.
OR if you drink a lot of coffee and/or alcohol, those can deplete the vitamins even though you are otherwise eating healthy and have the same effect.
Not to mention high-carbohydrate meals can cause a sugar crash that is depressing. the ups and downs of a high-carbohydrate diet inevitably lead to moodiness and "down" periods.
Any time i've been down, it's usually related to sugar.

Other times i've been down, it's cause i've wasted time or been unproductive. Sitting around doing nothing is depressing. Being productive is a good cure.

Depression can stem from thousands of complications. Usually from something that can't even be targeted. Give some of those examples a try to start and see if any of them help. If nothing helps then send me a PM.

I don't know, usually when I'm down, it coincides with anger and frustration as well. Music, and basically time just cure it for me. Playing sports usually helps as well.

When I am down, I go to sleep. When I wake up, I am over it. If I am mad because I am frustrated, I just sleep and when I wake up I forget all about it.

whenever i feel upset, angry, depressed or if ive just had an argument with the girlfriend or the parents or the siblings, anything like that, i'll just shootaround in the backyard for an hour, it helps clear your mind, you focus on something you love(basketball) and you forget about everything else. if that doesn't work, lower your basketball ring to 9ft and pretend your shaq or kg, thats always fun.

I'll usually just play video games or watch something funny, and I'll feel better almost immediately.

Yeah, whenever I get pissed off or in a bad mood I work out. It helps get my anger out and it lets me do something productive.

A plethora of things can bring me up when I'm down. Seeing my girlfriend or just hanging out with friends always helps, if that doesn't do the trick (or if they're all unavailable), than music is the best remedy for me.
