<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">When Bryant scored 17 points in the first nine minutes, it appeared his streak was destined to continue. But the Warriors used multiple defenses and a lot of double teams after that, making it tough for the Lakers' star to get open.

"We held him to 43, by God," Warriors coach Don Nelson said as he finished speaking with reporters.

"We did a good job. I think our defense was solid," Nelson said. "We tried to make it hard for Kobe. What a great performance - I can't imagine what he's been doing." </div>

    You said it Don! [IMG]

Haha, it's kinda sad when you can say you "held" someone to 43 points. To his credit though, this was the first time since his before his 50 point streak that Kobe shot beneath 50%, so he was doing something that others weren't. Too bad Kobe still torched them and they still won the game.

I hate that people continue to focus on how many assist kobe got last night and calling him extremely selfish. I watched one of the canadian media. they tried so hard to comment on how selfish kobe are and saying Nash is a team player. Come on guys, he is trying to extend the streak....I am a Canadian but i don't like Nash haa (i dun hate him too tho)

People will always do that though. If Kobe scores a lot but doesn't get assists, people will complain about that. If he doesn't score a tremendous amount but racks up the assists, people will say he wasn't assertive enough. I have an idea for you media people out there, get off his case and realize that this team is winning right now, and that's all that matters. I don't care how we're doing it, but we're doing it. If he has to go for 50 to win, do it. If he doesn't, it doesn't matter to me. I just want to keep winning.

I just saw Tom Friend admit on Jim Rome that he doesn't like Kobe because of his smugness, and thus won't give him credit due to that reason alone. In addition, he says that if Jordan had done the same thing, he would have been in "awe". He basically revealed why Kobe was not in the top five on various ballots last year.
