Whats up with Kobe missing the first 2 FT's???

The Grizz were without mike miller

The lakers looked pretty cocky the WHOLE game

and wow Kobe gets blocked on the last attempt...

i'm so pissed off, man. ****.

how stupid is this team? why does smush take a three pointer to end the game? that's really the best shot they could get with nearly 7 seconds on the clock? i don't buy that at all. if phil really drew that up, he's a moron. seriously.

At least it wasnt as bad of a loss as the Wolves-Sonics game where they came back from 25 down, and yesterdays Nuggets-Pistons game where Sheed just hit an amazing shot to force OT and then they went on to win trailing basically the whole game.. But you gotta give it to the Grizzlies because they did do a good job especially at the end not letting Kobe have a chance to tie, also Tarence Kinsey out scored Kobe 24-23.. Lol feel sorry for the Lakers and now they gotta play the Rockets on Friday lol.. Gl with that game and the rest of the season....

We sucked, terribly. Everybody had a terrible game. Why was the last play drawn up for Smush when minutes earlier Kobe hit a HUGE clutch three?

We had good looks, they just weren't falling.

I'm still confident, bring it on Houston.

What are your thoughts on Jack Haley? I find myself disagreeing with him most of the time. I admit this is a bad loss but why is he overreacting. Just like what Westphal and Bryant said, this is just one of those games. It?s clear that Kobe didn?t have his legs in this game. He looks tired and that?s ok, we will bounce back and play better against Houston.

IMO Smush wanted the glory and wasn't thinking straight <-- The most logical reason i could think of on why smush took that early 3

^no offense, but the Smush hating needs to top already.

    Sick and tired of it.

    How bout Kobe's 7/26?E.

    7 for 26

Of course, Smush has a rather solid night, people just loooove blaming the loss on him because he missed the last shot, then Kobe gets blocked, yet Smush will get all the blame. He made 1 less basket than Kobe on ELEVEN less shots.

We all praise Kobe when he's scoring 65, but when he goes 7/26, no one says crap.

Someone find me a game where Jordan shot 7/26 and I'll shut up.

My only beef with Smush is he missed two wide open three pointers. The first one would've originally tied the game and the second one would've obviously won the game. He isn't a clutch player, I don't get why the play was drawn for him when Kobe, seconds before, nailed a deep three pointer to tie the game.

No matter how bad Kobe shoots, he usually shows up in the clutch.

Also, nobody shot well on the team. Smush shot 6/15, Lamar F'n Odom shot 1/7, Bynum was 2/7, and Cook was 2/9. Plain and simple, we sucked tonight. From Kobe to Cook, we sucked.

Agreed, then let's point the blame at Phil for drawing the play for Smush. The shot was straight, but unfortunately short.

I don't know if I can even blame Phil though, because like you said, not one god damn person on this team could make a shot tonight, from Kobe to Cook.

    Man, that's pretty pathetic.

AT HOME against a Memphis team without Mike Miller, Chucky Atkins, and some other guy I can't remember, we lose.

I don't care if we won 5 straight, I seriously don't. You just don't lose these games, and esp if you have a Kobe Bryant on your team, you definitely shouldn't lose this game.

I'm pretty pissed that Phil didn't draw up a play for Luke, who was 3/3 from beyond the arc in this one. Going by statistics, Luke obviously had the best % to hit it.

Embarrassing loss none the less, I really hope we have some motivation to beat Houston on Friday.

Kobe gets blocked by Gasol after a nice offensive rebound. Man, I really thought we were going to pull through. Smush did have a couple really nice looks from behind the arc.

You have to take the positives from a loss like this. Despite Kobe and Odom both struggling to score, the Lakers only lost by 2 points. This is one of the reasons I want to face the Spurs in Round 1.

The Lakers are going to have games when they struggle to score, and we aren't capable of making stops and shutting teams down defensively on those nights.

At least if we face the Suns, we have size to get us back in games, because Phoenix gives up a lot of offensive rebounds and second chance opportunities. The Spurs usually hold teams to one and done.
