Would you want all teams to have a shot at landing the first pick?
I think all teams should be in it, but the playoff teams should have a abysmal chanse of getting a high pick. Still though, that wouldn't help solving the problems with teams losing to get a high pick. If everyone had the same chanse in the lottery that problem would be solved, but it would ruin the chanses of a bad team getting good players to their team, at least most of the time.
I'm not a fan of the idea. I don't think playoff teams should even be mentioned. Making the playoffs is their reward. Plus, I don't think it's fair to the teams that were bad to have more people competing for it and making their odds a little worse.

What the hell, of course not. The team with the worst record isn't even guaranteed anything. If you want to screw teams like the Celtics even more, just increase the good fortune of the other teams not in the playoffs.
Teams that aren't in the playoffs will still have a higher chance of getting the first pick, so it doesn't eliminate the fact that the worse you are, the better chance the have at the lottery. That just means that the playoff teams have a shot at the lottery too.
IMO its a good idea but not to give every team an equal chance example there are 50 balls in the lottery 10 - memphis 7 - boston 1 each - layoff teams
While the idea promotes equality, it is much better that lower standing teams can build upon their franchise rather than chancing an impossible to beat team. The value of the NBA would go down.
Actually, if the goal is add more diversity to the playoff pool, it makes more sense to give an equal shot to any lottery pick to all non-playoff teams. A really bad team usually won't become good just because they get a high draft pick. However, if a middling team (like the Kings, say) gets a high draft pick, there's a much better chance they'll be come a legit playoff team or possibly a contender.
It would be interesting. Teams probably won't be tanking the season anymore just to get a high draft pick.
