Just wanted to recognize the man who fought for the rights and working conditions of Migrant workers. In school, we sang songs and learned about all the things he did. Anybody else have thoughts about it?
On the topic of civil rights activists, Paul Robeson is the greatest in my book. "He was an multi-lingual American actor, athlete, bass-baritone concert singer, writer, civil rights activist, Spingarn Medal winner, and Lenin Peace Prize laureate." Very intelligent African American who won an academic scholarship to Rutgers University and even graduated as valedictorian. He picked up languages like they were nothing. "Robeson earned fifteen varsity letters in football, baseball, basketball, and track and field." By 1930-40s, he was #1 recording artist of the year. It's ashame Americans sided with Jackie Robinson over an everyman like Paul Robeson.
