<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">First Colbert put the entire Raptor team "on notice" for being from a different nation, yet playing in the National Basketball Association. Then, when the Raptor mascot edged out a minor league hockey mascot named vaguely after Colbert (Steagle Colbeagle the American Eagle) in a contest for best mascot, well then it was war. Colbert moved the team right on over to the "dead to me" list. The whole thing makes for some excellent video. Please, oh kindly and good-humored Raptors, respond in some fashion. Make some kind of bet with Colbert where he and Steagle Colbeagle will end end up singing a duet of "oh Canada" at a Raptors game or something. We just need to keep this going. </div> Source--> Truehoop Blog Hilarious. I love Colbert!
lol, the Raptors actually did respond. At the Oshawa celebration of "Stephen Colbert Day" (an entirely different joke), the Raptors' mascot came and held a sign that had Colbert's head on it and said "On Notice." Then he clowned the Colbert mascot. And fell. Colbert actually covered it on his show (Link). They also did something at a home game (I think vs. Denver), but I haven't found a video of it. They brought the Colbert mascot in and the Raptor was supposed to jump on a trampoline and dunk over him. Instead, he just tackled him and held up a sign that had Colbert's head next to the words "Dead to Me."
