Sucks mentally, but it's probably good for his game. He won't be getting many minutes now anyway, especially not in the playoffs.
What happened with Farmar? I guess I haven't been following the Lakers closely enough the last few weeks. He looked pretty good earlier in the season, poised to take over the starting job.
"Rookie guard Jordan Farmar, whose playing time has declined sharply, will be sent down to the Lakers' Development League affiliate today and, in a minor history-making moment, be recalled immediately after the D-Fenders' game to suit up for the Lakers tonight against Sacramento. A player has never appeared in a Development League game and an NBA game in the same day." SOURCE: http://www.nba.com/news/388592.html Jordan might still make some history.

Farmar is trying to do things he's not good at yet, namely, shooting from long distance. Earlier in the year, Farmar was breaking his man off the dribble and moving well inside the Triangle with back cuts and curling up to the high post. Lately, he's been chucking up jumpshot after jumpshot, instead of penetrating and kicking, or taking it all the way. I'm actually surprised the team waited this long to send him to the DLeague. Shamu has come on strong, and McKie has been solid in the few minutes he gets. Farmar needs to get his edge back, and playing in the DLeague should help him out.
<div class="quote_poster">Detroit Madness Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">So hes going to play for the Defenders and the Lakers on the same night?</div> Lol, yes he will.
He scored 18 points for the Defenders and if he enters the game tonight he will be the first player to play in a D League and the NBA in the same game.
he was only in the D-League because its almost playoff time, and its preparing him for the playoffs, they said that on FSN after the Kings gamee
I'm not sure, but it seems better to have him on one team at a time, not both. I guess as long as he doesn't have to do it every night it would be fine, he definitely couldn't do it when the Lakers go on road trips.

The strategy appeared to work because Farmar looked a lot better in the Sacramento game.
he can only get assigned to the D-League 3 times, he already did once, so they'll probably do that two more times to get him playoff ready
