<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">WASHINGTON - Former Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson on Sunday joined the crowded field of Republicans running for the White House in 2008 and proclaimed himself the "reliable conservative" in the race. Thompson, who was health and human services secretary during President Bush's first term, also said he is the only GOP candidate who has helped assemble both a state and federal budget. Since announcing last year he was forming a presidential exploratory committee to raise money and gauge support, Thompson has lagged behind better-known rivals. Thompson, 65, has focused his strategy on Iowa, which holds the nation's first caucuses for presidential nominees. He has made weekly visits to the state and sought to make the case that it will take a candidate who can carry the Midwest to win the nomination.</div> Link
Guys, I can't say this any more clearly: the fact that this man is able to credibly run for president of our country scares the ever-loving caca out of me. He is absolutely not fit to be the leader of our country. As a Wisconsinite, trust me: if I ever influence anything that you do in your own life, let it be this. Please, do not vote for this man.
I saw this guy on Bill Maher the other night. I don`t know too much about him, but he seems so damn stiff.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">During a May 3, 2007 presidential debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Thompson said in response to a question from moderator Chris Matthews that a private employer opposed to homosexuality should have the right to fire a gay worker.[1] He said "I think that is left up to the individual business. I really sincerely believe that that is an issue that business people have got to make their own determination as to whether or not they should be." Matthews replied "So your answer is 'Yes'?", to which Thompson replied "Yes". He called CNN the following morning to say he didn't hear the question correctly. He apologized, saying "It's not my position. There should be no discrimination in the workplace."</div> Thompson blamed his hearing aid for failing, that he didn't hear the question, and that he was battling the flu. Somehow, that makes it ok for him to say that he supports discriminating against gay people. Guys, Tommy Thompson is a loser.
