It's been a while but with all of the fantasy draft talks I've been hearing or seeing in the sports websites. I wanted to show my own analysis on the first round picks, particularly the #2 pick.

For some reason, I believe the second overall pick will be the best pick for any one this year. I bet you guys are ready to throw bricks at me and ask, "Why not the first pick?" Simple. The first pick is usually the easiest which most "unexperienced" fantasy players, or newbies, think it is.

Well even though I've played fantasy football for two years, I've picked up some handy tips from my mistakes and is a quick learner.

Well back to the analysis anyways. You see, most leagues target running backs the first two rounds. That's very common. But if you throw in a non-running backs like Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer, or even Steve Smith, you can easily weed them out. Carson Palmer, yeah, you don't wanna risk that pick for someone who just has surgery. Steve Smith? I'm sure that recievers are inconsistant and won't be able to put up good numbers every week so you can take him off. Peyton Manning, it's a hard thing to do but usually mid-to-late first round he is gone and you do not wanna leave someone out like LT or Shaun for someone else.

Speaking of those two, the first pick have a grand choice of going to them or the rising star, Larry Johnson. Now they will have lots of problems breaking down the schedule or just picking their names out of a hat but the #2 pick has an advantage. You can already key in on which you are going to get. Like if he takes Shaun in the first, you have LT and Larry. Or if he takes Larry, you have Shaun and LT. And so on... And to help you, you can create a little board in your mind on which is better or whatever. But here are my rankings for those three:

    1. Larry Johnson
    2. LaDainian Tomlinson
    3. Shaun Alexander

Now why would the MVP be third? My reason is that Larry has potential. I might be proven wrong and see him as a one-year wonder but that is hard to see for a running back who racked up over 1,700 yards and over 20 TDs and only starting... (I forgot) number of games. Now LT, he knows that he will be seeing the ball more often because if Philip Rivers can't move the ball, he should have to be relied on. And Shaun, the MVP, the one who is on the cover of Madden NFL 07.

Now why do I care so much, because I do... Will I have the same opportunity? No. Maybe not in my friend's league that is. I have the last pick, again. Probably because I'm the reigning champion for two years straight.

Well, good luck and have a great draft day.

You can't go wrong with either 3. Any one of the 3 could win MVP.

I'd wanna put Clinton Portis on either #4 or #5 since their offense looks amazing. The other RB would come down to the schedule. I'd wanna say Edgerrin James but I'm not sure about him and the Cardinals offensive line.

I think Cadillac has earned himself a spot in the top 5. Also Tiki Barder should be given strong consideration.

Tiki would be my #4. That's the hardest pick but Tiki is the safe pick. Portis doesn't get a lot of TD's but he does have Saunders and that should only help. I really like Rudi Johnson this year but I'd put him at 6 or 7.

    I'd go

    4. Tiki
    5. Portis
    6. Edge
    7. Rudi

Didn't Saunders and Portis work together when they were in Denver?
