The bad news is they're going to have to keep trying.
The Jazz said Kirilenko could miss up to two weeks - a stretch that could include the final six regular-season games and the start of the playoffs - with the injured left thumb he suffered in the loss at Sacramento on Friday night.
So while teammate Deron Williams bounced back from the strained groin he suffered against the Kings to compile 24 points and 13 assists in a 106-103 loss to Seattle at EnergySolutions Arena on Saturday night, Kirilenko sat subdued behind the Jazz bench, in a gray suit and a protective split on his injured thumb. </div>

Injured again!? This has been a terrible season for AK47, he has played so poorly, now more injury woes, not good at all.

While Carlos Boozer has played in many more games this season than last, Matt Harpring has stayed reasonably healthy and Paul Millsap is contributing off the bench, no one expected Kirilenko to have such a big drop in production. He's getting paid $12 million this season, which he earnt largely because of his versatility and defensive ability. But he just isn't filling up the stat sheets the way he used to. He has showed some flashes of his old self, but not with enough consistency.

AK has been trash all year, might as well sign "The Mongoose", if he can shut down Kobe, maybe he can shut down all the other SG's that drop 50 on us [IMG]

Kirilenko expecting to return early from injury

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Andrei Kirilenko knows he's not expected to play again until after the playoffs start. He just isn't a big believer in that timetable.
"I think after swelling goes down, then we'll put splint on it and see how it feels," the Jazz forward said of the fractured bone in the tip of his left thumb. "Three or four days maybe, and start to try it out. Once it feels normal." </div>
