The Wizards create a lot of energy and production off turnovers, so the Nets need to learn make better and wiser passes and just play its game.[*]Feed Carter and Jefferson – There's no reason why these two players should each score 30 points against a depleted Wizards team. Without one of their toughest defenders Butler, the two players should look more to backing Jarvis Hayes in the paint and scoring buckets over him and as long as they keep shooting from 3, they should be able to score 30 each without breaking a sweat. [*]Free Throw Shooting – Mikki Moore missed two key free-throws with four seconds left, but luckily Vince Carter bailed him out with an offensive rebound. The Nets need to shoot better from the line, after shooting 21-31 from the line on Friday. They don't want a loss to haunt them because they couldn't hit from the line, and being away at the Verizon Center, who knows how hopeful they are for the Wizards after Arenas and Butler went out. [*]Rebound – The Wizards let their game against the Nets on Friday slip away from them because of poor boxing out and rebounding. They had a chance to win it when Moore missed 2 free throws, but Vince Carter ran in and got the board. The Wizards can't allow the Nets to outrebound them 55-38.[*]Perimeter Defense – 3 point shooting for the Nets was key for them in Friday's meeting. The team combined for 17-36 shooting from downtown. Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson just couldn't miss from outside, and contributions from Cliff Robinson helped secure this win. Perimeter D has killed the Wizards all season long, but if the team wants to learn to win with Arenas and Butler, they need to start learning how to stop shooters. [*]Bring Arvis his J back - Jarvis Hayes knew that he would be relied on to replace some of the 47 points per game the Wizards were missing with the injuries from Butler and Arenas and has he came in to shoot. In Friday's meeting, Jarvis shot 12-22 from the field, including 5-8 from 3 point land for a career high of 29 points. This player that has been troubled by injuries his career has struggled from shooting the entire season, but if his confidence increases with good shooting nights like this, we might be seeing another Allan Houston type player next year.[/list]
Thanks for the preview Will. I'm looking forward to see what the Nets could do on the road against the same team they just beat.
With a Wizards win, it would clinch them a playoff spot, and with another Heat loss to the Bobcats would put them only a game ahead of the Wizards with a matchup between both teams tommorow. Crucial game tonight, Andray Blatche is returning though, so let's see what he has to offer playing some more minutes as usual.
