<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Doc Rivers will have an opportunity to coach the Boston Celtics next year and beyond. According to league sources, the club is prepared to offer Rivers a contract extension following this season. Rivers' original four-year deal ends after next season, and he has stated he didn't want to be in a lame duck position, though he did stop short of saying he would leave if the team didn't extend his contract. While the salary figures and length of the new contract have yet to be discussed, both sides seem willing and eager to get something done.</div> Link Ouch.
Please name one coach that could have done more with our roster the last couple years. I've said I wanted him fired before, but that was more based on emotion over anything. No coach is perfect, and there really hasn't been that much to complain about considered how our roster has looked the last few years.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">According to a report in today's Boston Herald, the Celtics are set to offer Doc Rivers a contract extension. It's a genius plan, really. Say Greg Oden decides to stay another year at Ohio State. The Celtics could possibly get Kevin Durant in this summer's draft, and then be waiting with the worst record in the league next year -- thanks to Rivers -- to grab Oden. Danny Ainge = insane ... genius. </div> http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/amjump Sam Mitchell > Doc Rivers..... Double ouch. Mitchell smells and i'd still rather have him.
Interesting article by Simmons on this subject. He makes some good points. You guys need a better coach, just like we do. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...13&sportCat=nba
