Being counterintuitive, Dave D'Alessandro thinks the Nets' best chance would be against the Pistons, who he thinks may not be the most motivated bunch. Dave also says nice things about Vince Carter (!), telling one fan "Don't be surprised if he wins you over again" while dissing Lawrence Frank (!!) a bit, suggesting he has not gotten his players to "interact successfully" in his system.</div>

Thats probably one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. Why would facing the pistons be better then facing the raptors, who haven't made the playoffs in five years. The pistons are one of the best teams, if not the best team in the NBA. Completely idiotic comment.

While i agree it doenst make much sense I feel i have to say that the Raps have been on fire as of late. They have the 4th best record in the league since January and are highly motivated this being their first glimpse of the playoffs (for most parties)

The thinking might be that Detroit would be overconfident? Either way, I dont see the Nets getting out of the first round

It's a case of "getting over with it". If they face Detroit first and lose, it's something that's expected. If they find a way to beat the Pistons, in a snap of a finger the Nets are then the team to beat. The idea won't sound as ridiculous if that happens. [IMG]
