The Bulls were awesome, even Sweets got some playing time. Noce's shot looked flat early in the ball game, but then he hit a basket, took his first charge being back. The Bobcats have been doing well, Gerald Wallace has been dominant. Hopefully we can beat them and get in control of the #2 spot for good. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Big Macs Anger Knicks 11th April, 2007 - 4:23 am Chicago Tribune - Several Knick players accused the Bulls of trying to run up the score in the Bulls' 98-69 blowout win in an attempt to hit the century mark, the Chicago Tribune is reporting. Should the Bulls score 100 points, they provide free Big Macs for the crowd. Steve Francis and Nate Robinson got in the faces of Bulls rookies Tyrus Thomas and Thabo Sefolosha as the final buzzer sounded. As the teams then retreated to their locker rooms, teammates had to restrain Knicks center Jerome James from going after Thomas. The brawl earlier in the season between the Knicks and the Denver Nuggets also started after Knick players felt disrespected by J.R. Smith's high flying antics with Denver holding a large lead. "I know when people are trying to run up the score on you," Francis said. "I told their players that if I was in the game, it would've been something different. I won't do that to nobody and I don't expect nobody to try to do that to the younger players on my team." "I don't care about the Big Mac. I'm just saying respect, man. Their coach played in the NBA before. He should know that. If somebody did that to him, I'm pretty sure he would be upset." Bulls coach Scott Skiles, speaking before Francis did, had no problem with his team missing three three-pointers, an alley-oop attempt from Chris Duhon to Thomas and a layup attempt off a rebound in the final 64 seconds after hitting 98 points. "If we had 92 points with two minutes to go and we're out there jacking threes all over the place, I could see that," Skiles said. "But at the end to shoot the ball and try to tip it in, I've never been accused by anybody of trying to run up the score." Pressed further, Skiles finally turned sarcastic. "From everything I hear, they're on the verge of being a great team," Skiles said. "It ought to be a team we should be playing over and over again in the years to come. So something like this shouldn't fester or anything."</div> Source
Yeah ^^, thats shameful from the Knicks. I have lost so much respect for the Knicks, they are sore losers. They were trying to start a brawl, again. I mean, the Knicks got upset over a Big Mac and wanted to start a brawl? Are they crazy? The Chicago rookies out on the court, are allowed to play until the end because they get very limited court time. If that scrub Steve Francis wants to start brawls with rookies, hes got a real problem. Knicks are a disgrace now, and Isiah Thomas aproves of them starting fights. I remember he had the nerve to tell Carmelo not to shoot the ball. Then he told Mardy Collins to hit JR Smith around the neck. Then the KNICKS delibratley start a brawl because they were upset they lost, and their homecrowd hated them. Im glad Tyrus and Thabo were more smart than Francis. What did Francis want? Chicago just to let the Knicks score? Good teams play until the end, Chicago is a good team. Knicks are lucky they once again didnt start a brawl. The Knicks just need to keep their emotions of losing to themself, and not involve other innocent rookies.
lol @ Skiles Seriously, I don't see what the big deal is trying to get two more points to please the home fans at a home game so that they can all get a free Big Mac. I can understand their frustration during the game because of the score reflecting their recent hard luck, but the comments and actions were not needed. Especially considering the reason they feel it is OK to lash out over such a thing as free Big Mac sandwiches. That's idiotic and pathetic.

I would hate to see some Chicago players get suspended for something the Knicks started. Knicks are just a bunch of sore losers who cant handle losing. They are never going to get anywhere with an attitude like this. As you said, thats idiotic and pathetic of the Knicks.
francis said they we were trying to run up the score against heir young guys? Okay we were playing our rooks. The lineup was Duhon Thabo Kriyhapa (spelling) Thomas Allen That team couldnt run up the score against the mcdonalds higschool allstar team
Exactly. The Chicago lineup at the time was full of rookies. You would expect rookies to play hard until the end of the game, because of their limited court time! What is wrong with Francis and the Knicks! Knicks need to get rid of Francis and fire Isiah. I have no idea what is wrong with this team. But the Knicks this season have been sore losers who have tryed to start brawls on numerous occasions. Something over at that crazy club needs to change for the better. They cant go on like this anymore. * Please avoid using caps to write out sentences
^ Did you see what happened at the end? Why is Francis’ opinion a reflection on every other player on the Knicks?
<div class="quote_poster">MrJ Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">^ Did you see what happened at the end? It just seems like the whole team is in on this. It wasnt an opinion by the way, Francis was clearly trying to start another brawl. Mardy Collins, Nate Robinson, Jared Jeffries and even Isiah Thomas have done stuff like this before. Remember the brawl against Denver? That the Knicks started alone? Collins hits JR Smith because hes frustrated they are losing, Nate Robinson punches JR Smith for no reason. Then Jeffries starts chasing people for no reason. Isiah Thomas was behind this all, he told Carmelo not to shoot the ball. I mean how pathetic is that? The Knicks as a team have done stuff like this all the time. This Francis act just proves my theory even more. Its not just Francis who has done stuff like this before. Nearly each individual player on the team this season has done something similar to this. Even the coach Isiah has, which just makes me even more ashamed of the Knicks.

During the brawl, there were 5 Knick players on the court: Nate, Frye, Lee, Jeffries, Collins. Frye and Lee were breaking up fights (in fact, Frye got pushed down by Melo and did absolutely nothing), and Jeffries was chasing Melo after he punched Mardy Collins in the face. That's clearly a legitimate reason to chase someone. The reason why Mardy Collins hit J.R. Smith so hard was to prevent him from jumping. Had Smith been airborne he could have been seriously hurt. There was no malice intended on Collins part. And Isiah told Melo not to go to the basket. Even if you consider that a "dirty" move, many teams, especially back in the day when Isiah played, had enforcer who would send messages to the opposition with hard fouls. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Its not just Francis who has done stuff like this before. Moving on to the game - Ben Gordon must have a pretty good record against the Knicks. He always seems to come out and play against them.

Collins delibratley hit him around the neck, it was a dangerous move and Smith could of been seriously hurt. No Malice on Collins part? He hit him around the neck........ If he was trying to prevent him from jumping, he would of put his arms around and hugged him way before. If you think preventing somebody from jumping, involves hitting them around the neck then you are crazy. Then Jeffries for no reason, takes Camby out and goes after Najera. Isiah Thomas had no right to tell the opposition team when to score, he should of kept his mouth shut. Anyway, Im just glad none of the Bulls players got involved.

Smith did a fancy dunk previously and Mardy didn't want to do that again. And how do you know he did not intend on jumping? When you attempt a layup your feet leave the ground. The only reason why he didn't leave the ground because he fouled him before. His play was hard and excessive, which I'm not disputing, but there was no malice behind the foul. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If he was trying to prevent him from jumping, he would of put his arms around and hugged him way before. He grabbed Najera because he was being held back and Najera was the only person in front of him. Jared Jeffries was playing peace maker before Melo punched Mardy. And Isiah didn't tell the opposition when to score - he said don't go to the basket implying that the Knicks wouldn't allow the easy layups/dunks the Nuggets were getting all throughout the game. I also noticed you completely ignored my question which I bolded at the end. You said: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Nearly each individual player on the team this season has done something similar to this.</div> I'm asking who?
Jeffries, Robinson, Francis, Collins, Jerome James just to name a few. Yes Jeffries did take Camby out. Camby was doing the right thing and trying to stop the fight. Then Jeffries just sprints up to Camby and knocks him over like a bowling pin. Have you seen other flagrant fouls before? When Shaq is going up for a dunk, defenders grab him with both arms and hug him to make sure he dosnt get hurt. So dont give me this crap Mardy didnt want to hurt him. Do you think Mardy was really trying to protect JR, but hitting him around the neck???? Are you crazy, or just blinded by your homerism?
<div class="quote_poster">Basketballer05 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Jeffries, Robinson, Francis, Collins, Jerome James just to name a few.</div> That's a cop out. In the heat of the game sometimes players don't think - they just react.
