"There's a marked difference, I would say, with schemes and talent level and daily management stuff," he said. "But it's strictly pure basketball at this level, developing some people skills, and learning to make a connection with players. It doesn't have a lot to do with the external recruiting and NCAA and summer camp and dealing with Mom and Johnny and his girlfriend, and all the other stuff that goes on (in college) that I didn't necessarily think I was good at. This is just pure basketball which I love."</div> Source:JSOnline
It's kind of too bad that we won't get to see whether he actually has potential as a head coach down the road because all our players have been shut down in hopes of landing Durant I think he would best be cast as an assistant, but the players do seem to like him more than Stotts. And we've been slightly less painful to watch defensively since K (can't stand typing out his name) was promoted
Coach K wont be here next season, or wont be headcoach atleast. We will be looking at some other head coaches like Rick Adelman and so on. Its a shame because we never got to see the potential coach K had.
Phil Jackson was raving about Larry K the other day on the radio. He talked about his time with Larry when he played for the Bulls. He was a key role player for them, and really understood how to win games, eventhough he was at the twilight of his career. He had a lot of respect in the locker room, and PJax knew Larry had the characteristics to be a succesful coach one day. I think he later hired him as an assistant for the Bulls to further study the Triangle offense. Which leads me to this question ... Assuming the Bucks extend him, do you think this team would adopt the Triangle offense and run it successfully? Just looking at the roster, they have the right pieces for the foundation with Bogut and Redd.
I honestly don't think Redd would be a great fit in the triangle, but Bogut would definitely work. I am not a fan of the triangle, though when it is executed properly it's one of the more efficient offenses the NBA has to offer. I think a lot of our future, overall, rests on what happens with Mo Williams. I guess I'd like any offense, though, that gets Bogut properly involved.
