<div class="quote_poster">SoSoDef Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">At least the TJ Ford play at crunch time payed off for once...</div> I don't think that's necessarily a good thing. Mitchell and Ford will now think that this play works and will attempt it another 20 times until it miraculously works again. We were lucky that went in. It wasn't a good shot at all.
Meh ... i think we knew Detroit was better than us before we got to this game. I'll take the win considering it could allow us to clinch a home court for the first round.

We probably wouldn't have won the game if Detroit wasn't playing their subs in the 4th, so its not something to get real excited about. I thought we played inconsistently through the first 3 quarters. At different stretches, we would do a great job of rebounding, defending, and scoring, but it never seemed to come together at the right moment (ie: we would do a great job of defending but give up 2nd chance points, or we'd hit the offensive glass and miss all our shots). In the end, I'll still take it. We generated offense when we needed it, even if some of it was off broken plays (the AP bankshot and the TJ iso play). We really could've used Bargnani tonight to beat that zone they played early on. There are 2 main things that I considered positives: 1) The play of Kris Humphries. He was dominating the glass tonight and wound up with a career high 18 rebounds. It really was a great job and he was doing this against a premiere frontcourt. He made his presence felt on the defensive end as well (one block in particular was just plain nasty). 2) Our home crowd was really into the game. I hope this was a preview for the playoffs, because the fans got loud whenever the team got needed a boost or was starting a run. There were a few moments when a Pistons player would hit a dagger shot that would subdue most crowds, but ours got back in to the game pretty quickly.
You guys expected to get Garbajosa and Barganani (friggin hell can't you get some Smiths and Jones on your team) for the playoff?
Bargnani will be back shortly. Better to stick with who we are using right now than ruin our chemistry. I doubt 1 or 2 extra guys would put us over the top.

<div class="quote_poster">Eclipse Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Ugly wins don't matter to me one bit right now. We need them all.</div> QFT. And Vince's mom was at the game?
We got lucky, but I didn't really care. Billups got to rest, and the Raptors won the ball game. Win win situation.

He mangled his ankle and leg against Boston. Garbajosa's foot was at an angle that wasn't human. He had surgery and will hopefully be back in 6 months.
