Warriors home crowd was INCREDIBLE. Gotta love the "Barkley SUCKS!" chants. Worst team in the playoffs Barkley? Mavs will win 3 in a row after game 2 Barkley? STFU BARKLEY!
<div class="quote_poster">AnimeFANatic Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> WHAT!?????? So whats your next prediction? Warriors lead series 2-1</div> Mad props to GS. I didn't expect them to even take 2 games from Dallas. If they win, the series man! But don't get too happy, you guys will lose to us in 2nd round.
It's easy to say that Dirk or any of the other players haven't stepped up. But they've really done all they can do. GS has proven that they are the better team at playing an up and down type of game - much better. They are simply more athletic and have more playmakers to a man. To me, Avery has been outcoached. He has made no real adjustments to what GS is doing. He needs to get JT to slow the game down and force GS into a half-court game. This will get Dirk back in his comfort zone. yes, this is hard to do, but it doesn't seem like he's even tried to do that. Unless they play a half-court game, I reckon Dallas will lose, possibly even in 5 games... At every position, GS is quicker. It's like 5 individual 1-on-1 games taking place with GS's player at each position dominating his opponent. EVEN if Dallas does play half-court, they're not that suited to that anyway, because they lack a true low-post threat a la Shaq or Tim, so basically the series is GS's to lose.
Don Nelson basically built the Mavs. And he was Avery's teacher. Of course, the Warriors will find it easier than most teams to compete with Dallas.
I'm laughing right now at how badly the Raptors are getting beat. I expected it, but there are people on here that mocked me when I said the Raptors getting out of the first round was a long shot. Come on. It's the RAPTORS! Who in their right mind would think they had a shot?
Wow, I was way off on Miami and GSW. Didn't see Miami getting swept, but GSW beating Dallas doesn't come as a surprise to me. Users like foo8 swayed me into thinking otherwise. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Anyone else think this could be a year where 3 or more teams with home court advantage get knocked out in the first round?</div> http://www.justbball.com/forums/showpost.p...95&postcount=30 3-14

The Raptors had zero experience and didn't even have a good team. Who would pick them over the playoff-tested Nets? Jason Kidd alone probably has more playoff experience than their entire roster combined. Aside from the fanatics from Canada, I wouldn't expect anyone to pick Toronto over New Jersey.

They didn't have the household names, like New Jersey's "Big 3." But, their starting lineup was more well-rounded and they had more depth. As for playoff experience, its true that New Jersey had much more than Toronto. But the Raps did not have "zero playoff experience" like you said. Morris Peterson, Juan Dixon, and Rasho Nesterovic had been in the post-season before and the international players (Jose Calderon and Anthony Parker) had been exposed to the same environment overseas. The problem was the Raptors' "core" (Bosh, Ford, Bargnani) were relatively inexperienced. Couple that with some untimely injuries at the end of the season (Garbajosa's foot injury, Bargnani's appendectomy) and the Nets' coaching advantage for the first half of the season, and you have the final result. It was hardly as cut and dry as you put it the entire time, and I seriously question whether you had seen the Raptors play before the playoffs.
I've seen the Raptors in the playoffs when Vince ran the show and they weren't even very good back then. Now they're worse. Raptors are and always will be garbage.
<div class="quote_poster">Clear It Out Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Raptors are and always will be garbage.</div> So 47-35 record and a winner of an Atlantic Division, a team who got 3rd seed is sorry? You have to give them a lot of credit especially this year for their outstanding improvement. I don't care if they got 3rd seed in East, you have to give them credit for their turnaround season.

The only reason they won the division was because the Nets were so banged up. The only reason I'm trashtalking the Raptors is because of the damn fanatics that really thought they had a shot against New Jersey. Toronto was the worst team in the playoffs. I'm tired of people overrating the Raptors.

I give all the credit in the world to New Jersey for playing a terrific series. but the Raptors were hardly pushovers.
