Duncan ejected for laughing while on the bench

WTF? How do you give a Tech for laughing? What in the hell has the NBA come to. The NBA this is the worst officiating the the league has ever seen!!

 

Yeah! Just saw this! Thats sooo messed up! Either star treatment for mavs players or else its just that the refs are going power hungry!

 

The NBA is no longer a players league. It has just become an Officials League........ Officially!!!

My question is when will refs be fined for bad calls?

Here's the sequence.

Duncan got called for a questionable offensive foul. Later, Duncan, now on the bench, got a technical from Crawford for complaining about another call. Duncan laughed in reaction. A couple possessions later, Crawford called a foul on the Spurs. Duncan burst out laughing again. Crawford thought he was showing him up, and gave him another tech.

 

you express your frustration in a posative way and get thrown out? there is something wrong with that. There has to be something said about that call. these rules are too vague. They need to set a solid rule for tech fouls.

 

Crawford has always been behind questionable calls, i guess he is getting his whistled tuned up for the playoffs

Crawford is one of the worst refs if not the worst in the league. He has a <u>massive</u> ego problem and should've been released of his duties a while ago and this makes it indefinite. The man makes bad calls every game he officiates and this only solidifies that fact. Tim is a class act player and like any other player has the right to express himself regardless of what he was laughing at. For Crawford to give him a tech to kick him out of the game it simply shows that he is unprofessional and wants to make sure that his ego is satisfied first IMO.

 

I wonder how the game would of been with duncan in there, he was catching on fire and was schooling the defense. I hope we dont get crawford in the playoffs.

 

Duncan just stated that he knows crawford has a vendetta against him. I have always thought that but with this call i now know how ture it is

 

Yeah, my dad just told me what happened because he was watching the game. It's sad this is what the league has become. Officials can now completely take over the game, and dictate whoever they want to win. How in the world can Crawford have a vendetta against Tim Duncan? This is Tim Duncan! What negatives has he ever done ever since coming into the league? I'm sorry, but that's just ridiculous. I've seen multiple times, many times this season, when a player gets into the refs face, yet doesn't get called for a technical. Now Duncan gets called for a technical just for laughing? The sad thing is, David Stern isn't going to do a thing about it. When was the last time David Stern fined a ref for making a bad call? Instead, he's probably going to fine Duncan for critisizing the call. Sorry, but that's just BS

Not only that but Duncan said some harsh things according to one of our news stations here in SA. They havent showed the comments but they said they will show more tonight at ten thirty. So lets see what duncan has to say.

Stern's going to fine him regardless. If you say one negative thing about the refs. FINE!

 

I bet crawford could've sneezed and would of given Tim a tech for saying bless you

 

Maybe if it was his first tech, but even then it would be questionable. But to eject him on a tech like that. Man that was the most pathetic thing I've ever saw. I remember a playoff game in '02 Jon Barry got a technical called on him for tieing his shoes on the scores table.

 

The players union has to get involved in this situation. the refs call the game not determine the outcome. Its up to Tim to file a complaint. Im sure the players union will back him 100 percent.

 

Joe Crawford is a clown and has to be one of the most boring refs in the league. Like MtwoOne said, he's got a big ego problem and he needs to be fined for this. Atleast the game was meaningless, but who knows he would've done this even in a playoff game.
