1. Jets Head Coach, Eric Mangini won't have the best rookie year as head coach with the Jets considering what Quarterbacks he has to use. 2. Nick Saban, will make his move and fight Belichick for the AFC East. 3. Ben Roethlisberger will mature into a Pro Bowl QB. 4. Overall scoring will go down this season and possibly next season. 5. Randy Moss will rebound this season. 6. Terrell Owens WON'T become as huge of a problem as he was with the Eagles and 49ers. 7. The Carolina Panthers are the "most talented" team in the NFC. 8. Peyton Manning will have a good postseason. 9. The Ravens may manage to make it to the playoffs. 10. Gene Upshaw, NFL players union, isn't considering the idea of having blood testing for "human growth hormone." My Thoughts: Mangini won't have the best rookie season but other rookie coaches won't either; like Green Bay, Houston and Oakland. Nick Saban WILL fight Belichick for the divison while the Bills and Jets watch from home. No comment on #3. Next question. Not sure about Randy Moss but depends on Aaron Brooks and how he plays. Incredibly wrong with the whole TO thought. He is cancer and will do what cancer does, destroy from the inside and the effects will show after the team has been seeing problems with Bledsoe and Owens. #7 is correct. I don't know about #8 but the Colts will make the playoffs. And the Ravens, only future would tell... "Human growth hormones?" *cough cough* baseball *cough* For the link of John Clayton's article/column/whatever... http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor...john&id=2509705
I think I disagree with #3 Ben won't ever put up big enough #'s with the Steelers to make the Pro Bowl. #8 Till Manning ever does it it hard to predict it. He better soon though cause how many more cracks will he get. Also #4 I haven't checked the #'s but hasn't scoring been going up for the last few seasons. What were his reasons for it going down everyone following the Steelers lead?
I agree that Mangini wont have the best rookies season, out of the rookie head coaches this year, I think that Mccarthy will do the best. I completely agree that Nick Sabin and the Dolphins will be a contender for the AFC East. I also agree that Roethlisberger will mature into a pro bowl QB. Idk about the whole scoring issue. I think Moss will rebound this season, and return as one of, if not, the best WR's. I think T.O will be fine, I think he was forced to see reality when he had to sit last season. The only thing I think will force T.O over the edge would be a losing streak, and I dont see that happening. Panthers "most talented" team in NFC? I don't think I'd say that, but I wont argue. I think when the Colts played the Chargers it showed that Peyton Manning could get rattled. Sure the Ravens could make it to the playoffs under the leadership of Mcnair. I don't know why they wouldn't test for Human Growth Hormones...seems a little suspicious.
I agree with all of that. I read that a while back and couldn't agree more. Only one I doubt is Big Ben emerging as big time passer. He's a great game manager, (currently the best) but I'm not sure if he can put up 25+ TD's and 3500+ yards. The accedent makes me doubt it more. I think he can but I dunno about this year.
Last November, it was obvious that the AFC East would be a 2 team race this season. The jets IMO will finish third.
ehh i have no problem with the Jets being bad this season they are going in the right direction IMO and i'm looking forward to years to come with Mangini
im actually picking the jets as a sleeper this year, i think as the season progresses and their young guys develop they become dangerous. Not necessarliy a playoff team but a competitor
mangini would have been better served in the long run to learn under BB for a few more years, but instead he took the quick $. And in NY if you don't succeed early you're not gonna last long.

I'm pretty sure a 4 win season for the Jets would be fine for Jets fans if we see progress in the young guys. If we get like 7 wins Mangini would be a god among men tho
Thats what im calling for the Jets 7-9 but it all depends on the QB situation, Im forming this on Pennington playing in at least 3-4 games.
I just read power rankings by Brant and he has the Jets in last . If Penningtons out or not 100% it's hard to argue

i think #4 will be wrong because of all the new changes in quarterback hitting...which willl allow more qbs to move easier the ravens will not make it to the playoffs because they dont have the schedule that will allow them to get in... and at #3...ben will do better but it is a bold statment to say that he will be probowl stuff... sure gene upshaw doesnt want testing on blood for drugs but the recent findings of the new illegal drug, ephedra, will cause him to at least make him rethink his position on this issue...unless he only cares about money and not looking like a mean guy to the players...if does what is right he will allow the testing

He is protecting players interests. Once the testing is good, he will agree to the policy.
