Does anyone have any info on who we have the most interest in at this point? It does seem like they're interested in Yi Jianlian, judging from a little snippet I noticed from an article posted back in mid-late March: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> With Yi projected as a top 10 pick in the upcoming NBA draft, the Sixers are among the teams that have sent a contingent to scout him in person. The Sixers' group includes president/general manager Billy King, senior vice president/assistant general manager Tony DiLeo and director of player personnel Courtney Witte.</div> I got that from this thread: http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68358 Sorry CK. Anyway, does anyone else have any info on who we're interested in? (btw if you don't mind Blur, I want this kinda seperate from the Draft thread)
My inside sources tell me we are interested in Greg Oden and Kevin Durant But seriously though, I have no idea. I really hope we don't draft Yi Jianlian though, although I would love to see a Chinese player added on the roster, I really am not high on him at all
Why is it that everyone who knows absolutely nothing about this player not high on him? Theres probably a reason why a lot of scouts and other people are comparing him to very good players in the NBA.
The only reason why I don't want him is because of his age factor. I've heard the guy is already 24 or 25

The Sixers Head of International has been upset the past couple of years with the Sixers lack of picking international prospects, it's bound to happen sometime. If I were to guess, it would probably go back to the Iguodala draft, not picking up Biedrins. With all being said, hopefully the Sixers fall to the end of the lottery and pose themselves of having no chance at Yi. Trading up for him would be a complete disaster, I can't even imagine what I'd do if Billy King does that at the expense of losing any of our other first-round picks.

I was over at my friend's house this weekend, and his dad was from China. He follows Chinese Basketball and he told me Yi is older than projected. His age is 24-25 years old
Yea, his age is all over the place right now. I don't think anybody knows for sure. He's a solid pick though and I think he'll turn into a star in the NBA. Although I don't know how he fits in with the Sixers.
Personally, I think Yi Jianlian has bust written all over him. There's just too many questions surrounding this guy. Nobody really knows how well he'll match up to top competition, and even now, nobody's even sure of his real age. If we're going to take a chance on an international player, I'd rather us go for Nicalos Batam with our first 1st rounder pick, or Tiago Splitter with our second 1st round pick. But if it were up to me, I would not draft an international player unless we draft one with our Dallas pick, or a second round pick. This draft is extremely important. It could very well set us back years if we screw up, so I'm not really up to taking a gamble on any prospect unless it's with our latter picks
Why Batum? He's even less proven that Yi and plays a position that's already filled. At least Yi has the potential to play power forward. And I have to disagree with you about Jianlian. Aside from the age issue, those problems are applicable to any college player (not sure how they'll match up against the pros). People tend to say international players have "bust written all over them" as an excuse for not knowing anything about them. But, like I said earlier, I don't think he's the right fit for the Sixers. The Splitter pick could be good. You'd just have to be sure that his buyout wouldn't become an issue.
