Well I saw a dog that looked like it was 150 pounds. I don't know what species it was, I think it was a Black Great Dane. I think it had a spiked collar too lol, might just be adding that in to my memory though (it was like a year or year and a half ago).

Edit: I thought it could be real, but that the dog wouldn't live very long at that "giantism"-like size. When I saw a Liger picture for the first time I thought it was fake.

I'm guessing that picture is fake though, because when I searched Hercules on the net there wasn't any info relating to that picture to prove it.

The largest dogs in the world are generally mastiffs, great danes, and st bernards if I remember correctly.

The largest dog I have ever seen in my life is an Argentine Dogo at my uncles house in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His name is Tanque (tank) and if I remember right he weighed about as much as me. 160 lbs.

That picture shows his heighth..... but the muscle mass on Argentine Dogos is incredible. They are like huge pitbulls.

My fianc?e loves Argentine Dogos. They're really cool dogs. However, the largest dog based on mass is actually the Bull Mastiff.

Are they found in places besides Argentina? If they are, they must be very very rare. But yeah, awesome dogs. Although, they can be very dangerous to people outside of the owner and the family if they are not trained and socialized properly. All I know is that my uncle has 3 dogos in his yard so you would have to be 100% insane to try and break into his house. But if the dog percieves you as a friend of the family, you can wrestle him to the ground and it wont mind lol.

Edit: Ok, nevermind, found this site: http://www.usdac.org/ . Never seen one here though.

Also just read that they are illegal to own without special exemption in both the UK and Australia, along with other types of dogs. They can be classified as pitbulls, which are illegal in many places in the US as well.
