It should be 'A Series of Jurrasic Proportions' if you think about it.

^But it's not like either is a defensive specialist. In my opinion, the only time Carter has a bad game is when he shuts himself down. When he is in that zone, it is extremely hard to keep him from scoring.

[No sarcasm] Swish is obviously more creative then I am. [/NO sarcasm]

But yeah, someone should change the title so it makes sense.

Neither are defensive specialists, but they're both good defenders. Mo-Pete was obviously Vince's teammate for a prolonged period of time, so I'm sure he's played against Carter in practice before and perhaps knows how to guard him or how to discourage him. Parker...well, in all honesty, I haven't gotten to see the Raptors play that much games this year (basic cable, studying and being generally busy will do that to you), but from the ones that I did see, he was a solid defender.

I expect Carter to come out gunning, because I know he wants to prove himself. However, there is a lot of pressure riding on him in this series because it's not even about the Nets vs. Raptors anymore....it's pretty much Vince Carter vs. the city of Toronto (or the country of Canada if you wanna get really specific). Obviously, not everyone hates Carter down here - he still has plenty of fans - but the majority of people dislike the way he left. The Toronto sports media is going to jump all over this and exploit it to the fullest.

Oh god, I have to settle for those horribly shortened highlights with awful commentating from Sportsnet [IMG]....

Yea but he hasn't shutdown Carter during the season, so why do you think he will during the playoffs. I mean sure he might step his defense up a notch or too, but I'm sure Carter will do the same to his offense. (hopefully)

The bench will be the toughest thing for the Nets to stop. With Bargnani coming back, we have one of the strongest benches in the league. The Big 3 will have to log heavy minutes to keep up with the Raps.

You forget that we have Jason Collins. An explosive scorer.

In the last 10 games, he has a total of one point, and 30 personal fouls. How do you like that?

The Nets are strong on paper. And they have the capabilities to back it up. If the Nets finally get it together and be consistent, the Raptors should be no problem. Truth is, all the Raptors has is their grudge on Vince Carter, and that could work either way.

And a record of 47-35, 3rd seed, one of the strongest benches in the league, an allstar in Chris Bosh, upcoming star in Bargnani, GREAT support, and much more?

You do realize that the actual raptor players dont grudge vince carter and new jersey is actually the grudger. If VC didn't grudge the raptors, he wouldn't have gone all out to win against the bulls now would he? He wants to beat T.O. and put T.O. in their place. Meanwhile, besides the fans, the Raptor players couldn't really care less about who they challenge.. they're too professional for that.

So the raps only have their grudge on vc, and that's the truth? Oh yeah, the grudge that the raps have is the ONLY thing that motivated them to win 47 games and get 3rd seed, yes, it was pre-meditated... that sure makes a lot of sense...

In actuality its the nets who are trying hard to get to play the raptors, the raps had no idea who they would face, and the nets knew exactly how to face raps while raps just kept winning and not caring, so who exactly has the real grudge?

lol, it's only the media and a majority amount of Raptor fans (most of them are casual though) that hold a "grudge" against Vince. I frankly do not even care. Toronto fans need to let sh*t go. They booed Tracy for like 2-3 years after he left. I don't know if they still boo him now, but some of the Vince hate doesn't even make sense. General puckheads just hate him for the sake of hating him.

Yea, some Raptor fans are quite ignorant. (I'm targetting the kids here.) All they do is jump the bandwagon.

My brother last year had his MSN name as something about the Toronto Craptors, now he is all rooting for the team. I hate it when he does that.

Well Parker certainly shut VC down in Toronto:

    4-17, 12PTS
    5-15, 17PTS
    ------------
    9-32 (28%), 14.5 PPG

Don't know if that was partly the crowd getting to him but either way, we've got home court. VC will learn just how good Parker is during this series. Don't forget, Parker can also expose VC's poor defensive abilities. If Parker looks to assert himself offensively, he can easily average between 15-18 point a game during this series.

I love it how the media thought NJ was crap the whole season but now they're all over them since they put together a string of "decent games" over garbage teams at the end of the season.

    Raps in 6 or 7.

I agree, a lot of people here simply hate Carter because the next guy is doing it. Although I do still think that the way Carter when about his final season in Toronto was an absolutely terrible one, I still think that fans are overdoing the booing, especially since Carter has the ability to feed off of it like he did last year.

I absolutely hate the hate that Carter recieves from Canadian channels like Sportsnet or TSN. You can tell that both stations really lack basketball knowledge.
