You can't really blame him though, the guy's probably the most underrated player in the NBA

I think Simmons was talking about an interview where someone asked Marion if he would be happier being the number one guy on a mediocre team and he was seriously intrigued by the scenario. He could be another Joe Johnson-type who doesn't realize how good he had it until he leaves. He sure as hell won't ever be as good without Nash.

Wasn't Marion an All-Star calibure player before Nash came to Phoenix?

Who said he wasn't? I said he won't top his current play without a premier PG like Nash.

Probably not, but statistic wise, Marion is the same with or without Nash

Oh there's no doubt about that. The dude racks up stats so easily. Don't think he's a first option either.

Even as a Laker fan I agree with some of this. However some things that don't sit are these:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Odom's a very average defender. Vujacic can't guard anybody. And Bryant in the open floor takes chances that aren't good.</div>

Odom is an average-okay defender, I agree. However, they make him sound like a complete slouch. Vujacic is a decent defender, don't know why they say he can't guard anyone when Mr. Nash can only flop on people. Bryant does take some stupid chances, yes, he can also make some stellar split second decisions.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Lamar Odom is just too damn big and long.</div>

Is this an insult? Or a compliment? He messed up Marion last matchup regardless.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Sasha Vujacic is an all-universe whiner with an unpronounceable surname. </div>

Making fun of someone's name is schoolyard sillyness.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Plus, Phil Jackson sits on a throne.</div>

Another childish poke at Jackson's hip problem.

Looking at this, I really start to dislike the Sun's organization. I hope the Lakers stomp out the Suns.]

Well, as insulting as those comments were, I don't really think it was THAT out of line (besides calling Phil Jackson a penguin because of his hip problems). I'm pretty sure all teams, including the Lakers, make some disrespectful comments about others in the locker room. I heard that back in our three peat years, Phil Jackson made a video about the Sacramento Kings, trying to motivate our players. In the video, he portrayed Sacramento coach Rick Adelmen as Hitler. So as insulting as those comments were, I'm not really going to look that much into it. I'm not exactly too upset about what they said, what I don't like was the fact that they let it out in public. Hopefully our players will see this and use it as motivation.

Talk about disrespectful. This is just fuel to the fire for the Lakers though, and I'm more than sure that they'll use this for just that.

The Suns' cockiness is really annoying me now, and to think that most people I know think they're the NBA's "good guys". Which really pisses me off and this article just makes me angrier at them.

I hope the Lakers can beat them and shut them up.

And the Phil Jackson thing was just wrong.

Seriously guys, do you think the Suns are the only people that talk trash about rival teams. I mean, even the people at Burger King make fun of the ugly girl at the McDonald's across the street. Let a reporter follow the Lakers around for an entire season without any restrictions and see what they write. Even Phil Jackson wrote a book talking bad about his own team. What do you expect from a member of the media?

This book was written about a year ago. Get over it. The Suns organization is extremely classy and all this fuss is just a stupid attempt to get the Lakers fired up. If you actually read the whole book you could see how professional the Suns attitude is.

Well, guess I'm just overreacting cause I'm still a bit bitter about that playoff series from last year... Hope the Lakers can contend with the Suns in this series and not just give them a sweep.

That's the weakest argument every Laker fan throws out at people. Are you saying the Celtics are better than the Lakers now because a long time ago they had more championships? It's ridiculous. Just come to terms with the fact that the Lakers are a really bad team now and the Suns are a really good team now.

so?? Any great basketball team will fall apart eventually. Enjoy watching the Suns until they become lottery team again. [IMG]
