Well... waiting for BF1 for the league draft I wanted to practice doing some drafts. So I went onto Yahoo and did a public league that the draft will start on 11:30 AM Pacific time. Well, in the draft I started with the #2 pick (SICK WID IT!) Anyways... here's how I did (or what I got):

    RayLewisMurder
    Round Pick Player Position
    1. (2) L. Tomlinson RB
    2. (19) C. Williams RB
    3. (22) A. Boldin WR
    4. (39) T. Brady QB
    5. (42) T. Houshmandzadeh WR
    6. (59) A. Johnson WR
    7. (62) A. Crumpler TE
    8. (79) J. Lewis RB
    9. (82) K. Warner QB
    10. (99) Tampa Bay DEF
    11. (102) K. Johnson WR
    12. (119) A. Bryant WR
    13. (122) V. Davis TE
    14. (139) New England DEF
    15. (142) M. Stover K

Using the "philosophy" (or formula) I developed with the #2 pick I got LT since Larry Johnson was gone with the first pick and Shaun went third.

I had the luxury of taking either Carnell or Ronnie in the second round and I flipped a coin (Heads being Carnell and tails being Ronnie).

Third was a no brainer since most of the good WRs were taken in the late first to second round I took Anquan Boldin who saved me last year.

While everyone was taking the RBs they've missed out on in the early rounds I wanted to lock up Tom Brady since he helped me win those two championships and is always reliable.

After finding out that no one taking a QB and only Peyton and Brady was out, I needed to get some recievers as well. That's when I took T.J Houshmanzadeh.

Next round was Andre Johnson which I'm still fighting myself about because he won't be doing as well with David Givens on the other side and David Carr under center with that offensive line.

Round 7, I took the best tight end out there since Todd Heap was gone.

This pick was the one that got me in trouble with the other drafters. What is there to hate about Jamal? I got really mad when one of the guys said Jamal won't get the starting job and will not even tough 1,000 yards. All I said was "That's funny coming from the guy who pick Ahman Green and Chester Taylor" No offense Packer fans.

Kurt Warner got the nod in round 9 for safety reasons.

I finally took a defense in round 10 after the guy before me took the Baltimore defense and the guy before him took the Pittsburgh defense.

Knowing I have a possible void in the WR position and to make up for the Andre Johnson pick, I took Keyshawn Johnson. This might end up being a steal because the other drafters took people like Joe Jerevicious and Eddie Kennison before me.

And to make it even more safer, I took Antonio Bryant over Matt Jones since I noticed that T.J and Andre have the same bye weeks.

No tight end stood out besides Vernon Davis which I hope will be the starter in San Francisco.

I took New England because I have a feeling that their defense will be the way it was two years ago.

Matt Stover was the best kicker in my mind out of all kickers and was still available for my round 15 pick.

    MY QUESTIONS
I was wondering during the draft for some of these picks, etc.

Why was Reggie Bush rated so high? He is splitting carries with Deuce McAllister and that offensive line isn't the best.

Why take WRs so early? Come on... Someone chose Steve Smith over Rudi Johnson. Whatever happened to take RBs in the first round?

What is so bad about Jamal Lewis? Why would someone take Ahman Green and Chester Taylor in two rounds before Jamal Lewis?

Now how the hell did Michael Vick get picked before Ben Roethlisberger?

Why take a kicker, Adam Vinatieri, in round 8?

That's it for my draft. What do you guys think about the draft? Or at least rate it from a scale of 1-10. If I'd have to rate it, I'd give it a 7 since I have Carnell and LT in the first two rounds.

Who went #1 overall in your draft MKIV? Larry Johnson or Shaun Alexander?

Edit: Sorry... I re-read your post and saw the draft order of the top three.

The last few years it seems if you can't get a top 4 RB the top receivers seem just as good if you can get a double digit td guy. Supra I like your team on strength of the RB but the only guy that needs to break out is
andre Johnson. I think I've had him every year since he was a rookie and he's always let me down but with Eric Moulds there he may finally be able to put up top WR #'s. That and if Carr can finally stay standing

Yeah, I'm always afraid of drafting him because of the competition at the WR position. I think Washington has the same situation with Moss, Randle El, and Lloyd. But there is usually one left out so if Johnson is a bust or sleeper I can lay back on Eric Moulds who is still in free agency.

Mike Anderson will take a lot of carries from Lewis hence it lowers both they're fantasy values.

i think Reggie Bush is rated so high because people are thinking O hes Reggie Bush hes the 2nd pick in the draft he will definatly be good. But they dont really do their research and for this year they don't realize that he may not be the best pick in fantasy

Reggie could put up yards but I don't see him racking up td's from the 1 yard line. The Saints will try to keep him healthy

Yeah, I know he has a good reputation and is arguably the best running back in the draft but why so high? I would rather have DeAngelo Williams over him because he has a chance to start and has proven that he can carry the load. Reggie in the other hand, had to share with LenDale White and is questioned about his durability. But it does farther than just how they play. Look at the Saints offensive line, can they open holes for Reggie and Deuce throughout the game?

Supra, are you a Steeler fan or Ravens? Did you lose an avatar bet by any chance because I don't think you can like both teams.

I'm a Ravens fan. Once training camps start, I can put my Ravens avatar back on. I lost the bet of who wins the division. Originally I was supposed to put a Bengals avatar but since the Steelers won the Superbowl, it was more than the division title.

My regards, if I gotta put up the Bears avatar I won't be seen for the next summer. Actuall I can handle the Bears but not the Vikings. Here in Manitoba every one's a Vikings fan.

You don't have to put a Bears avatar as long as you don't make a bet with the other NFC North fans, especially BF1. He seems confident about the Bears.
