<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Boston Celtics guard Sebastian Telfair was arrested on a gun possession charge after the car in which he was driving was stopped for going 77 mph in Yonkers, N.Y., early Friday.

Telfair, a 21-year-old Brooklyn native, was charged with second-degree possession of a handgun and driving with a suspended license following the 3:53 a.m. stop on the Yonkers highway, Westchester County police said.

Telfair pleaded not guilty Friday at Yonkers City Court to the charges and bail was set at $7,500. The pair was due back in court May 17.

Westchester County police spokesman Kieran O'Leary said Telfair was polite and cooperative.

"Our officers said he behaved like a gentlemen," O'Leary said.</div>

what is the matter with these people. They dont have any rrespect for what they have. these guys dont love ball because if they did they wouldnt do STUPID stuff. lesson to all. When you become a millionaire you cant have Knucklehead friends that get you into trouble. Be a man. Tell your friends "I cant do that because I have a career, and If you cant respect that your not my friend." Kick the guy out the league. If you want to carry a handgun move to a state where its Legal!!!!

How many NBA players have been killed because of names sake? If your famous people dont touch you because you cant kill celebs and get away with it.

    This is unfortunate for Sebastain.
As tough as David Stern is, the NBA needs Roger Goodell, or to adapt a similar approach as Goodell is doing with the NFL.

Only reason I think he would have the gun is if in case people from his old hood felt bitter towards his success and he may be scared they would do something out of jealousy.

But dude, get the issh registered.

Its one thing to own a gun. But at least follow the proper procedure and get it registered so that if you do have to use, you don't get in sh!t. Bonehead move by Telfair.

Part of the problem may be that it is way too easy to acquire guns off the street. I don't know the NY laws, but I do believe a lot of states require you to wait a few days before you can get a gun.

Now that Telfair has a cirminal record, will they allow him to get a gun?

Right. So there are people who want to kill Matt Bonner and Mark Bryant just because of their namesakes. Hey, these guys are in the NBA.

Telfair was too stupid to get the gun registered, and why was he driving that fast on a suspended license in the first place? So just because he's in the NBA he's immune from all legal troubles?
