To the game: Is any surprised? I am. We had 20+ turnovers, and 18 missed free throws yet we almost got within one possession. Not surprising we lost, you just can't miss all those FT's, get that many TO's, and expect to win. I am kind of optimistic regardless, though. I think that we'll take more games than you guys are selling. I'm optimistic, but not stupid. I'm not saying we'll win, but I think we'll win 2 games out of 6.
You gotta love the way the Magic fought back in this game. They could have easily just given up when the Pistons went up big, but they fought through it and actually made it a game, despite how bad we played. YOU HAVE TO START DARKO NEXT GAME! He played very very good. We lost, but I'd still give this performance a B+ or A-, just because we battled back, despite playing pretty bad.

Well we didn't send a message like you predicted. If I'm a Magic fan I want some things to go different in Game 2. Get off to a better Start Limit the # of Turnovers BETTER FREE THROW SHOOTING Continue to Outrebound Detroit Continue to Dominate in the paint Hoist up a few more threes wouldn't hurt Oh and I forgot to mention better FT's Best of Luck to you guys in Game 2
We spotted them 20 turnovers and 18 missed free throws and they only, ONLY won by 8 points at home. That is the team that is suppose to win the NBA title??? We deserved to lose the game, no doubt. But being able to stay that close to the #1 seed after that many mistake makes Detroit look bad not the Magic. The Magic are suppose to get blown out in a sweep.
Alright, this thread is going to be used to discuss the entire series. There's no point in making seperate game threads for each game so let's just continue using this for Magic-Pistons discussion. Alright, now that I'm home I can post a little more about what I think of last night's game. Although we missed 18 freethrows and couldn't hold onto the ball, I am still very optimistic and I still believe we will win this series. We came back in the fourth quarter and made it a one possession game despite playing on the Pistons' homecourt and despite our horrible, sloppy play. If we can come out and hit our freethrows and limit our turnovers in the next game, we'll definitely have a shot to win. Also, yesterday was many of our guys first playoff game. Now the nerves will have settled and I think we'll take Game 2 before returning back to Orlando and possibly taking a 2-1 series lead.
Did anyone else wonder why Trevor Ariza didn't play the entire second half when he came up big whenever he was on the court or was it just me? I mean seriously, the guy was doing good and ended the first half with a huge play that gave us a lot of momentum going into the locker room. Why didn't he get any playing time after that?
Yeah I noticed Ariza wasn't in. And for one we were up the whole game and believe it or not its tough to maintain a lead for very long in a game especially in the playoffs. I still think were capable of making it to the finals, I'll wait til the day before I make anymore predictions. Like I said before we are not going to sweep you guys but I don't see this series going pass 5 games.

I would like to add unforced to the "limit the # of turnovers". Detroit's D was very good, but a lot of our turnovers(probably 8-10) were our own doing just dropping the ball out of bounds or throwing it to no one and not really Detroit's D forcing them. Detroit will force their share of turnovers and we will have to live with those, but as long as we don't continue to be carelessly dribbling off our foot or dropping it out of bounds or throwing it to no one, we should be alright.

He's laying on the floor like he was just drilled when Jameer barely touched him. He even took his mask off and acted like it was a horrible hit. Things like this really make me hate the Pistons.

Magic cut it to 3 at halftime basically without Dwight Howard. Grant Hill and Hedo Turkoglu are killing the Pistons. I have a couple of questions of WTF's.... a) Jameer Nelson guarding Rip. Tony Battie doing anything. c) Trevor Ariza jacking up jump shots. d) Jameer Nelson/Carlos Arroyo jacking up shots without passing. e) Keyon Dooling not playing much. f) Darko not getting any touches down low. Post him up. g) Any possession that Turkoglu is in the game that we don't give him the ball.
