Survey says, Peyton Manning by 6-4 votes. Well here are my thoughts. Peyton Manning, he's no doubt one of the best QB's in the league today and is a future HOFer and isn't a stranger when it comes to being at his best. But there is the whole thing about him in the playoffs. Think about it, besides Peyton, who else are chokers? The only name I can see his Donovan McNabb or McChoke. Other than him, you would want to say Peyton because of his inability to get his team to the playoffs. But think about it, the Colts had a reputation of being the team predicted to making it to the playoffs. And besides last year, they always had been blamed to overpay the offense and never had the ideal super bowl defense. But that changed last year. They kept everything the same but the defense brought things to another level. But that wasn't enough. He brought the offense on his side, the monster passing game and the reliable Edgerrin James in the backfield. And defense, they had Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney leading the pass rush on both ends. They also had some playmakers in the secondary also. But they were so close, but they couldn't lead the game winning drive because of the kicker, Mike Vanderjagt. Now this year, Manning is going into his prime, which he's about like 30 or 31 years old. He is going to be at his best. But the same can't be said about everyone else on the team. What about the players that helped him along the way? That's right, the recieving core. You have Reggie Wayne, Brandon Stokley, Dallas Clark, and Marvin Harrison. Now I'd like to talk about Marvin. He has been one of the most consistant wide recievers for the past few seasons. Even though is isn't those freakish athletes like Terrell Owens or Randy Moss he keeps his body in shape. But sooner or later, he will break down. He is about 33 or 34 years old going into the season. This is Peyton's time to take his team into the playoffs this year or even the next while Marvin is still playing. But he does have some humps along the way. He is in the AFC, which is arguably the competitive conference compared to the NFC. But that isn't bad enough, the Colts usually get put up against the Patriots. Manning's nemesis, Tom Brady is always going to be on the other side. Now, the Patriots aren't going to be as dominant as they have these past 5 years but they can still get themselves to the playoffs. And when they are in the playoffs, they are bound to play against each other sooner or later. Eli Manning, is a future impact player. But the only way he can be at his best is when he has playmakers on the defense and Tiki running the ball. Like most teams, you need a defense that can hold the other team and the offense to score on the other team. They did exactly that last year, but it wasn't there time. Now their division, the NFC East, is one of the most competitive divisions in the NFC. The rivalry is heating up. All four teams have been to the playoffs recently and still have the ability to go to the playoffs. But the main reason the Giants got to the playoffs was the same reason Big Ben got the Steelers to the playoffs. He secured the ball and let the running game do its work. So it's Eli's job to lead his team to the playoffs. But all QB's need a supporting cast. They have some recievers who are reliable, Plaxico Burress, Jeremy Shockey, Amani Toomer, and possibly rookie Sinorice Moss. But look at the backfield, Tiki Barber. If he can do his part by playing as well as he did last year, Eli will be more relieved and won't have the pressure of doing it himself. But he did have his times where he led that 4th quarter TD pass last year against... (I forgot what team it was). And he is already having a great start and is entering his 3rd year, so there is room for improvement. Now I haven't seen their schedules but if I had to make a prediction on who would lead their team to win the superbowl, I would pick Eli Manning. Just for the fact that Tom Brady WILL be in Peyton's way. Now you guys can hate me for my comments but everyone is entitled to their opinions by the Bill of Rights. You guys can still continue answering this question but I'll add another one. Of these rookie running backs, entering training camp, which will have the most success this season? The only choices are between Laurence Maroney, DeAngelo Williams, Joseph Addai, LenDale White, Brian Calhoun and *drumroll* Reggie Bush.
Peyton Manning's window has closed, if you ask me. The defense still isn't very good and now he's starting to lose his offensive weapons. Edge is gone. Harrison isn't getting any younger. The line is starting to weaken. Meanwhile, the Steelers, Bengals, Patriots, Dolphins and Broncos are all capable of defeating Indy and are all peaking or still on the way up. I only see the Colts getting worse from this point forward. Peyton's passing records will have to keep him warm at night. Eli has a chance, but I wouldn't hold my breath. We'll see if he has a breakout year this year like everyone's predicting. If he does, the Giants have the talent to contend over the next three years.

Not like it will make any difference.
I'll say LenDale White as he has the biggest chip on his shoulder & he'll be counted on heavily in the red zone.
KJ will get hurt and Caulhon will come in and thrive in Martz scheme. It'll be one of the few bright spots from the Lions all year.
Just to think, Calhoun was One pick away from us!, you think TT would have bit on him if he was there?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (FLORIDA PACKER)</div><div class='quotemain'>Just to think, Calhoun was One pick away from us!, you think TT would have bit on him if he was there?</div> Uh... Uh... Uh... No.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (FLORIDA PACKER)</div><div class='quotemain'>Just to think, Calhoun was One pick away from us!, you think TT would have bit on him if he was there?</div> Yeah he probably would of. Thompson hinted after the Draft that Caulhon would of been a Packer if the Lions didn't take him. He gave a TT answer. We would of likely moved Davenport to FB and and kept Davenport, Hendo, Green, Gado, and Caulhon. Too bad we'll never know. Caulhon would of been a great 3rd Down Back and that's what we need.
Well... my answer would be between Joseph Addai and DeAngelo Williams. But whatever, moving on! Which first round sophmore wide recievers will breakout this season? (The only exception is Reggie Brown) The only choices to choose from is Braylon Edwards, Troy Williamson, Mike Williams, Matt Jones, Mark Clayton, Roddy White, and Reggie Brown.
I am going to say Mark Clayton with mcnair there a what should be solid rushing attack and mason, todd heap Clayton could be the next TJ
I will say mark bradley, cuz I am a biased bearsfan. Also, he was coming on last year even though orton was QB and this year he will have a legit thrower
Troy Williamson because I am a biased Vikingsfan. Also, I think Williamson, being more of a pure runner, is better suited for the WCO where he can catch a short pass and run after the catch.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Also, he was coming on last year even though orton was QB and this year he will have a legit thrower</div> Legit thrower? Who's that? Grossman or Griese?

Who's that? Grossman or Griese?</div> I can see how you are confused. With farve as your QB you think "thrower" means a player who makes a deal to "throw" the game. However, most teams dont have a cheater for a QB, and i mean the abilty to propel a football through the air to a designated spot in timing with reciever and while making adjustments based on the defense. Side note: griese won 5 games last year, how many did farve win?
My questions was more meant as "Who do you think will start for the Bears this year? Griese or Grossman?" I agree that both are better than Orton.
I don't think either or is going to put up rocket numbers for the Bears. They'll be an upgrade over Orton for sure but whoever is in will just manage the game. The Bears bread and butter is run the ball and play good defense and that's what they'll do best this year again.
