Did anybody notice the 15 banners that hang about Magic, Kenny, Barkley, and the white guy? All the playoff teams expect for the warriors...wtf? Have the warriors sucked so much, that TNT doesnt shell out the extra cash to get a warriors banner for their playoff appearance.
Yeah, it's pretty bad. Like I said before, Barkley isn't giving Golden State any credit. It's all about what the Mavericks did wrong and how they lost the game rather than how the Warriors won it. I really hope Golden State can take this series because they'd finally get some much deserved recognition and it would be one of the better upsets of all-time. Go Warriors!
Honestly I don't really give a sh!t about about what the TNT guys have to say about GS. Too little too late. What, all of a sudden Baron Davis is Kenny Smith's self-proclaimed "little cousin?" It's obvious these guys don't watch enough games, their comments sometimes sound like they had their stat-guy just pull something off the internet. None of these guys truly know what Andris Biedrins is all about. Only us GS fans know that he has been a n MVP-type player for this team all year, yet those guys can't even pronounce his name after all this time. I kind of like it that way, though. So do SJax and Baron. I used to care about recognition, I'd watch the highlights to see if they would actually utter the words "Golden State Warriors," but now I realize that getting comments from those guys, or the Sportscenter guys, or the ESPN Insider columnists, that's not really recognition. Recognition is from the other players and coaches around the league, and you best believe all other 15 teams damn well know there's a hot GS team rolling through town right now.

They are going out there quietly doing their thing. I attribute that a lot to Don Nelson and Stephen Jackson. They're the underdogs, and they're going to beat you by out-hustling you on the court. That was the game plan going back to training camp with all of that running. I think the Mavs had that type of intense training camp now. Right on for the underdogs.
I love it how Barkley's predictions get all messed up. He predicted a sweep of the Warriors. LOL. Keep being wrong Chuckster! It's working in favor of the Warriors whenever he starts making bets or predictions.
<div class="quote_poster">AlleyOop Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Recognition is from the other players and coaches around the league,</div>Other fans too. There's not much cross-pollination on these boards but over on the ESPN boards (I know, they suck) there are dozens of posts from fans of other teams who were really surprised by what they saw tonight. Many of them are probably watching the Warriors for the first time, or at least the "new" Warriors (although this game wasn't totally representative of our recent playstyle). Anyway, a lot of them had some really nice things to say like "I've never seen an 8 seed walk into someone else's house and impose its will like that before." I think the respect has to start with fans from other places getting knowledgeable, then the national tv guys and writers will start showcasing them more when the people demand it. For example, if Marc Stein at ESPN or Steve Wojnarowski at Yahoo! start getting a lot of questions about the Warriors, is Baron Davis that good, matchups in Warriors games, etc, they'll start talking about them more, and writing specific columns.
Scania - I noticed the same thing, screw TNT and Farkely. Along with the PussyCat Sl#ts not having a single one of them in a Adonal Foyle jersey. "Right Now!" Like the others have said, who cares about respect at this point, it's all about winning. With the Warriors walking in and imposing their ownage of the Mavs, its just shows that on any given day, any team can win. The NBA and its media partners are just so enamored with different teams that they've lost all focus on the point of the playoffs. Any team can win. Banner, recognition, promo or not, the W's have shown the world what they can do and have put everyone on notice. Great win, its good to be a die hard fan, we deserved it. Go Warriors.

TNT did not respect the warriors, especially Charles Barkley "The warriors didn't play good, the mavericks just played bad."

Golden State can't become complacent just because they stole one game on the Mavericks home court. That's what seperates the playoffs from the regular season, it takes more than one win.

Not only are they funny, but they are totally wrong about the Warriors. Do we want him to be right?

The warriors didn't play well as they could have, so they didn't play "gud". The Mavs played worse. What Barkley could have said to appease the masses is that he should be giving credit to key performers like Baron and then Sjax, the coaching staff, and the all around effort from guys that weren't doing too hot in the stat categories that made up for it with hustle. But that's never Barkley's personality. He was the nba's poster child for being a big bad rebel. He's the "I'm not a role model" type guy and he's the type of guy that would probably be like, "if I offend you, then GOOD," kind of personality. Barkley could have mentioned that there were intangibles at work when guys made some key plays like Barnes and one of his nice assists and his deep corner three over Nowitzki(?), Pietrus hustle plays, and Harrington and Jrich making some nice moves (jrich's block on Devin Harris for instance). Barkely is pretty biased and pretty blunt. He never sees things in gray, but that's kind of what's funny about him. You don't really take him seriously especially when he's kissing up to the "Spurrzz" and downplaying Nash and stuff like that. Also, When commenting on the lighter side of Atlanta Hawk's situation, he simply tells the other telecasters, "Deyz on da right track, but deyz on da wrong train". LOL. Where does he come up with that stuff? Hilarious! Plus, his southern accent rules. He's just a character. I've always liked Barkley, but have never taken him seriously on his least favorite nba teams because he's a bandwagoner that doesn't pay attention to anything unless he feels its worthwhile to focus on. The other funny guy I like is Shaq. Okay sometimes he's said some stupid stuff trying to be funny, but I liked his comment about being like Jason from friday the 13th. "Did you ever seen Jason running? No. But somehow he was always there."
<div class="quote_poster">scania612 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Gentlemen, I'm proud to report that TNT has raised the warriors banner. Booyah</div> Nice! Maybe it took time to get one made and they weren't sure whether to spend money on the Clips or the Warriors. I guess it's better to do it right then put up a cheap substitute made of printed paper.
I missed the TNT telecast last night, all I heard was that Charles was insulting the Bay Area now and instead of just analyzing the teams and the game he called out the people of San Francisco and Oakland.
^He admitted that the Warriors have played well in this series but also said that Dallas hasn't played well. Then he was asked if there was anything else he'd like to add about the Bay Area and he said, "No, the Bay Area sucks. I'd rather live in Alcatraz than in San Francisco or Oakland." This prompted TNT to make a picture (one of those funny, choppy edits) of Barkley swimming in the waters next to Alcatraz. They then had a segment with Caron Butler about how he likes to chew on McDonald's straws before his games and they did a blindfolded test to see if he could pick out which straw was from McDonalds. He did and then Kenny pulled out a plate of donuts, Barkley blindfolded himself, and tried to determine which glazed donut was from Krispy Kreme. He nailed it too.

Yeah Charles has had a on-going bad relationship with Northern California. I guess we don't enough Krispy Kreme's around for him. Or he hates our golf courses.
Anyone catch the game on FSN? How was Bob & Jim? I could imagine Bob screaming when the Warriors won.
Oh and during the entire broadcast, Charles was wearing a Dirk jersey. When they interviewed Baron, he was laughing about it and was saying that Chuck has been against the Warriors from the start. By the way, I love how Charles calls this a national nightmare.
